Lived in various unit for 6 years. Office staff is personable, polite, and professional. Maintenance/community management is a nightmare. The actual repair people I've interacted with have been great, but whatever system they use and the people directing them are horrific. I've had my unit flood with inches of black water without them picking up the phone, ultimately only responding when the office staff intervened. Sparking and dangerous, if not also straight against-code electrical wiring in all 3 units I've lived in. Recently it took multiple tickets and calls over 3 weeks to get them to SCHEDULE an AC repair, despite it being labeled by their lease as "emergency repairs". For that reason alone, I'd sincerely recommend looking somewhere else.

The pro's of live here is it clean and quiet. Maintenance is prompt when called which I like. The con's is their utilities they charge you a late fee if it's not paid by the 5th of the every month, than they want you to combine your rent and water bill together which to me is weird and if you late on both they combine your utilities and rent together as far as a late fee goes. Would I recommend living here I would but please get information up front about EVERYTHING

this is a beautiful complex but very bad choice if you want to live comfortably for multiple reasons starting with the amount of rent your going to be paying along with everyone else’s water bill because here’s something the office doesn’t tell you when you first move in they “add up everyone in your apartment complex water bill and then divide it by how many residents there are” meaning if your a couple you’ll be paying for the people next door, their kids and their pets to bath. the office is also very unprofessional they will treat you differently depending on your age. the closet doors along with kitchen cabinets fall off the hinges so if you have kids this is not a safe place to live the doors almost knocked me down and i am a grown women and you can call out in a request to have someone come “fix” it but all they will do is reattach it i’ve had the same doors and cabinets come off the hinges multiple times even after getting “fixed” , i believe there are people in the office related to people living here so if you live in a certain apartment be careful because the office will kick you out before they deal with the noisy neighbors even if you provide them with video proof. the office will lie to you and your spouse about things so please make sure your recording calls with the office, they will set up appointments/ meetings if you need to resolve an issue with a fellow resident but please don’t have a job because if you cannot make it to the appointment/meeting they will kick you out. The walls are very thin meaning if you step the wrong way or play music an octave above 1 the neighbors will call noise complaint but they can make as much noise as possible without any repercussions based on my experience.
University apartments is an overall HORRIBLE place to live with the unprofessional, rude and untruthful office workers, the people who can get away with just about anything, the constant eviction threats and the how unsafe it is for kids i would NEVER recommend this place to anyone please do not waste your money living here. the experience was bad i could not live comfortably. this is no exaggeration nor is this retaliation for anything i moved out on my own accord this is simply an honest review i wish i could’ve said this place was amazing but the only amazing part of it is the visual one again if your a young couple or a family with children this is an unsafe, uncomfortable and definitely overpriced place to live.

I’m very glad I moved away from this complex. Thin walls, creaky ceiling, and roaches are just some of the issues that I experienced living here.Maintenance requests were seen quickly; however, the issues would never be properly fixed.I found Tayjah, the assistant manager, to be very rude and unprofessional to me during the move-out process.

Do not move here. Car theft/break ins happen here. The roaches are huge but yet we have to pay for pest control. Not to mention how unprofessional everyone in the office is, including Claudia, the property manager. Don't waste your money. Trust me. These apartments don't even deserve 1 star.

Having been at another S.L.Nusbaum community, before I moved here, I knew that management takes care of their residents, apartments and grounds very well. Ms singleton went above and beyond to keep me informed about any changes or updates as to my new apartment .This will be my second lease with her and each time she makes it a very easy process , she pays close attention to detail so that there's no back and forth she gets it right the first time around.

Was recommended here from a friend and I can honestly say it is a decent place to live. I know all apartments are not perfect. I've been living here for 6 months and have encounter some issues first month living here I had someone walked in on me while naked in my home that just tells you they did not changed the locks on the apartment. My refrigerator was freezing my food for a month and I called and put in 3 complaints it took them almost a month to give me another one with all the wasted food. Another complaint I brought up was my bathroom smelled like cigarettes everyday around a certain time at night when I called and complain to front desk they had idea what to do not helpful at all they even told me they don't have a smell policy which makes no sense. Something positive about the complex there are a lot of surrounding places to visit very convenient spot right behind Walmart off military HWY and other stores. Very quiet apartments have not heard any gun shots or heard of any car break ins. I don't know if I will be renewing my lease but I hope this is helpful.

I’ve lived in Norcova Gardens for almost 2 years. My move in process was exceptional. Maintenance are hardworking and come in a timely manner. My concern is more about safety. My car was broken into. There are a lot of break ins on and around the property. I wish there was something that could be done to make residents feel more safe. Luckily, there were cameras that were more helpful then the Norfolk Police Dept. I will be planning to relocated for this reason.Attached: vehicle damage and assailants via residents camera***This incident took place 9/4/22 @4:43am***

I see a lot of good reviews for this complex. At first I did, until the toilets started running over week after week. Toilet water would be all in the hallway.. the floors became molded and they only cleaned the carpet after several complaints. Mold was throughout the house. Not only that, I couldn't take the huge bug problems. (Roaches, and different other bugs). I'm disabled and I would literally be pushing my wheelchair through toilet water.. They had the nerve to take away my security deposit for moving out on the 5th! I was forced out by lack of concern of my issues.No offense Claudia but your response to my review is not true at all. These results came from two years over time. occurrence after occurrence.. I called maintenance and they dried the carpet but that's it. They said it was from wipes someone put in the toilet... Your a good person ... but that was absolutely not true.

For the third time in the past 2 months vehicles have been broken into and 2 cars actually stolen and this place does nothing. They say they have "security" that drives around and even speaking with neighbors that have been here for over 6years has never seen one ever walk or drive around here. It took them 3 months to fix parking lot lights attached to their buildings. For the money they charge not worth it. Since we have been here we have always had major issues with this place and we end up having to use our own money to fix our own problems here. They do not care about you or your apt or what happens on their property. They just want that rent money and they turn their backs. Can't wait for us to leave. Avoid this place. Most of my neighbors stopped complaining because they already know this place WILL NOT do anything about it.

After 4 years my husband and I upgraded from1bdr/1ba to 2bdr/2ba. We greatly appreciate Claudia,Cheryl, and the other young lady who helped us yesterday.All are patient, kind, and professional. They handled our transfer with care, and made sure to answer all of our questions/concerns.They are hardworking and have made us very comfortable living here.
