On 8-11-23, I ordered two garments from Tom James and put down a deposit of 50%. However, before telling me my total or taking my down payment of $653.49, my representative, Christian Gerry, said if at any point I wasn’t happy, I had the right to demand a refund. He also reiterated via text on 8-23-23 that I could demand a refund. And by 8-23-23, working with Christian had become untenable, so I asked him to cancel my order and refund my down payment. He then went into to work on 8-25-23 (two days later) and instead of telling his superiors that I wanted a refund because of his unprofessional behavior and of his reassurance that I could demand a refund, he told them a whole elaborate lie about me supposedly making unwanted sexual advances towards him, requesting a refund, and making threats to expose him all because he said I was feeling rejected by him intimately. Tom James then sent me a letter claiming that based on their cancellation policy I wasn’t entitled to a refund, but that due to my behavior towards their professional salesperson, they would issue a refund and also terminate me as a client because my actions demanded no less. So without asking me for my side of things, I as the customer was not considered always right, I was immediately considered wrong and guilty. I then contacted them immediately and proved my innocence and that everything Christian Gerry said about me was a lie. They recanted and said I could continue to do business with them; however, no apologies whatsoever and only after I defended myself with the truth

My husband had a fitting and ordered a custom suit for our wedding. The order was placed more than five months before our wedding and we were reassured on multiple occasions that time would not be an issue. Up until literally the day before our wedding we received texts and calls where we were lied to and told that the suit was in hand and that they could overnight it to us in time for our wedding. Instead, we did not receive the suit and my husband had to scramble to find something to wear. Over the months following, we continued to be lied to, and told on multiple occasions that the suit would be sent or dropped off. We had to reach out to a lawyer four months after our wedding because we never received the suit or any money back. We finally received a refund after multiple attempts and the company never reached out with any type of apology for completely missing our wedding or ignoring our requests.

Tyler Smith has been my professional clothier for 7 years, and he is always prepared, meticulous, and confident when I come to Tom James Company. He isn't good or even great, the guy is awesome to partner with because he goes well beyond my expectations during each interaction. All the while on Zoom or FaceTime (I reside in Roanoke), might I add. The guy "gets it" and consistently gets it done correctly each and every time. I do not recommend just Tom James Company; as a matter of fact, my recommendation is to seek out Tyler Smith and partner with him for your next Holland & Sherry suit purchase. You will then understand this guy's drive and his product knowledge on why you need to embrace Sherry Holland's vast collection he offers.

I’ve been working with Christian Gerry and it has been the best customer service experience I have ever had. The quality of the clothing is a given but the customer service and ease is what put my experience over the top. This was my first custom suit order and I can easily say that I’ll be texting Christian in the future when I need some new upscale clothing. Christian was very knowledgeable of the clothing world and made finding what I wanted super easy and delivered an outstanding product on top of that. Couldn’t recommend Tom James or Christian any more!

Great company with amazing customers service. I have been working with Tyler Smith out of Norfolk for the past year and he has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Tyler is extremely responsive to all of my requests. He even encourages me to text him directly if I ever need anything. Definitely full service which I really appreciate. While good customer service is great, at the end of the day, a high quality product is an absolute must. This is where Tom James really shines. I love the variety of attire they offer from formal wear to casual dress and the available materials to choose from are really second to none. The shopping possess is very easy and customized to my interests and the detailed fitting insures that everything I get fits exactly as it should. I truly look forward to working with Tyler for years to come and would recommend Tyler and Tom James Company to my closest of friends and family.
