I was in line and saw the Thrifty guy turn the computer screen around and sign a customers’ contract after the man has walked away. Illegal. Also, they charge over $10 a gallon if you don’t refuel the car before returning. I didn’t see this in their contract so I was stuck with $100 dollar gas bill. The line at 2:30 am at the MCO location was an HOUR long. We’re we’ll NEVER use this company again. I’d rather use anyone else.

It was my first time hiring thrifty cars but my experience was horrible something I wouldn't want anybody to go through. Within the same time after my experience, I contacted another car hire and I was able to get a vehicle without struggles. More especially the Philadephia airport thrifty office it is a mess. The lady manager needs to be fired she is not creative enough and couldn't provide better options for customers what a mess. Thrifty socks, go for another car hire company with less stress. They will trick you and refer you to the fine prints.

I would give 0 stars if possible. The first car they gave me needed maintenance, so they gave me a second car. This car smelled awful, was dirty, one of the headlights was out, the windshield wipers didn't work, and the axle was shaky. I called to request a refund and they told me they wouldn't do anything about it. To make matters worse, they charged me $55 for a protection plan that I specifically requested not to have. Even though this was an optional coverage, they gave me the same response--they wouldn't do anything about it. There were other issues with the rental counter that I won't go into here. Suffice it to say that you should save yourself time, money, and hassle and never use Thrifty.

Buyer beware! Deceptive practices are in play. If you value your money spend it elsewhere. I have just spent 4 days of my life on the phone with these idots. Thrifty overcharged me and I keep getting the same spiel. Their first tatctic is to convince the customer that they (the customer) overlooked a charge. Then they add an additional charge. Finally when you request to speak with a supervisor, the "supervisors" are busy and will return your call. Well no one has returned my call. It appears that Thrifty is running a scam! I will never rent from these thieves ever again. Note: this rental WAS NOt at the Norfolk location.

Website is the worst! No pricing not user friendly pretty much a waste of time. I would bet the office is the same way! Unorganized and scatterbrained.

Thrifty charged me $61.40 for gas, which the car was filled up before returning back to it's location at Mccarran International Airport Las Vegas Nevada . I put a $240.00 deposit, 40 of it was to cover the fuel in the event it was brought back needing gas. But it was filled and I should have never been charged. I will never use Thrifty again and will not recommend to any of my peers. This will be posted on all Social Media Platforms to show how bad Thrifty Car Rental. They tell you one thing and do another, and then say there's nothing they can do. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a car rental establishment

Representative at counter initially/ was not nice. He gave me a toyota corolla which he said was a midsize. Car drove rough and within 2 hours check engine light came on i called phone number and was transfered to emergency services after 3 people and music for over 45 min as i drove back to airport to return car. The next customer rep was very nice and filled out incident report and gave me another vehicle and the nice girl in returns let me come back and get my stuff out car

Okay so listen, if I could give them no stars I would, but for the sake of this review, I'll give them one.I rented a Ford Explorer to drive my family to an event we were scheduled to attend (we all wanted to ride together). When we got in this car it smelled like they took the interior out of a 2006 and put it in a 2019. I suppose this was a smoking car but, I thought you weren't supposed to smoke in rentals?!? Or the renter would, at least, be asked if they wanted a smoking vehicle. To top it off in the last row's cup holder, there was a chicken bone!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I'm vegan at least leave me a soybean if you're going to be so generous (insert sarcasm) to leave it there.Seriously though, when I called corporate to complain about the nastiness of this vehicle, they said they DO NOT COMPENSATE; however, they will further inconvenience me by sending out roadside assistance to clean the vehicle. YOU SAY WHAT NOW?!?!DEAR THRIFTY CORPORATE OFFICE, I generally rent from you guys because you are well....Thrifty....but to compromise the quality of service, cleanliness and/or sanitary conditions at the expense of price is an absolute NO!If I were you all, I'd go somewhere else, spend $5-$10 extra elsewhere and spare yourself the risk of filth!!! SERIOUSLY, If they don't fix the stuff you can see, imagine what's not fixed that you can't see?At this point, my safety is in question. I'm highly disappointed and really shocked. They say Virginia is for lovers, well certainly not the lovers of clean vehicles and quality customer service!SHAME ON YOU THRIFTY!!

We reserved a car for 2 days and requested full size, got a Chrysler 300, very nice. However, in this time of COVID we expected that this car would be cleaner than renters in the past. That wasn't the case. Halfway through the trip since we were headed into the sun we had to stop and purchase Windex cleaning wipes to get the windshield clean. It took like 6 of the wipes. The car was so filthy on the outside that you could see our finger prints across the back of the trunk. We have local drive through car washes for $4 for gosh sake. Then during the clean up for us to turn in we found other items from the previous renters - no contact door opener, hand sanitizer etc. Well by then, we had spent two days in this car and feel that we were put at an unnecessary risk. Remember, this is the time of COVID, take a minute and get the car ready. I don't expect this too much to ask.

Do not use! I had a car booked a month in advance . Pick up for 12pm. Show up to the counter at 11:45 and they tell me it will be an hour and a half wait and the rude attendant then lists the reasons why they are so far behind. Of course I've already paid through expedia and try to use the same card for the hold and they tell me the stripe on my card doesn't work (first time this has ever happened with this card magically) . Currently waiting for car, will update later.

I reserved the "special of the day" online where you pay for the basic car but most likely you get a better upgrade car. I got a Toyota RAV4 and I loved it!

would give zero stars if i could. made reservation at norfolk airport and when i arrived was told that there was a 3 hour wait for me to obtain a car. people behind the counter were rude and acted as if they were doing me a favor. it was the worst example of good customer service and the best example of poor customer service. i would never recommend this company. totally disappointed
