This is definitely an above average gym. It was clean and there was plenty of open equipment. The only drawbacks for me was the music selection they were playing (hard rock/heavy metal), which is unavoidable when working out with a partner and the lack of free standing straight barbells, which is something I use often when working out.

Nice gym but I prefer the other Iron Asylums. The music here is almost always WAY TOO LOUD. Manager needs to set a standard for volume.

It's a gym. Go to pick things up and put them down. Atmosphere is good and the people are friendly.

The Norfolk location is brimming people of various lifting styles, experience,and strength. The staff are some of the hardest working people there. Such as Tony who chats with me about my day as we share common interests and life views. Also Blaine who comes by and tells me to go for more. Either in the form of reps or more weight. Both pointing out that I've been growing and getting better at my own lifts. Making me feel like this is my home away from home. As I see them taking care of the space that I call my home gym.
This is a gym that geared well for people who want to get stronger as a whole, with plenty of squat racks , benches, and various machines for different part of the body. Not just cardio machines everywhere.
I personally like the strongman gear there as well as the calisthenics area as well. I would also love to see the power squat rack that they in the Hampton location for the Norfolk location.
Makes me glad as a father that there's a gym that I can grow my strength in.

the norfolk location has been my location for almost 2 years now and I am super glad to call it my home <3 the workers are so amazing, especially Tony! who is one of the several reasons I stay going over there! he’s so awesome! but the gym is so clean, the people are so great and it’s a fantastic place to be!
