Recommended this place to my brother who lives up near Baltimore. He wanted a Smithfield ham "in the cloth bag" so I found this site. My brother ordered a ham (cracked pepper) from them and he loved it. Got to him really quickly as well. A bit pricey but worth it to him.

I remember this place as a child when it was at Wards Corner. Best country ham slices hands down. This location a little harder to get to but, worth the drive. Still the Great ham they've always had. Merry Christmas to all the owners and employees.

Classic VA ham sold here. We like this for Thanksgiving. Nice ham biscuits too you can eat at the store , or to go.

There's a charging station near here and I just wanted to snack on the road. So I had a chance to step into the Old Virginia ham Shop and I was beyond impressed. I will be there every weekend charging my car and getting me a hand sandwich.Understand they do catering as well. One of the most welcoming and friendly staff i have ever met

Original Old time Country ham at its finest! NEW LOCATION Now offer a full selection of ham products sliced to go and an onsite Cafe. Inside location looks fantastic. Super trendy and a fun place to hang out. Did I mention this is still the ORIGINAL 1956 Virginia Ham shop - relocated from Wards Corner. I always go out of my way to stop here when traveling thru the area.

Let me paint this picture for you...A rainy Saturday and you step into this quaint shop at the end of 22nd street and you are taken aback. It's cute, it smells like love and comfort and grandmama's house as she cooks Sunday dinner all at once.You order a half a pound of ham; you grab a jar of peach, pecan, and amaretto jam and on a whim--you get a Va ham sandwich with that same jam on it. Soft music lulls you as you sit on a swank couch that could easily be found in the corner of a speakeasy or a jazz club in the French Quarter. Your sandwich arrives and thought it's simple in its construction, the flavor explodes on your taste buds! Trust me on this bit of advice, order the Freaking Fabulous Fullers sandwich and switch out the mayonnaise for that peach, pecan and amaretto jam. I felt like I was HONORED to be here! Yes, it's a whole vibe, folks and the customer service--they are personable as the decor! You will come here and you will love it. I know I do!

I've been going to this shop for a long time. Most of it at Wards Corner and have always loved the ham rolls. I went to the new place last week and to my surprise, they have changed the rolls. What a disappointment. I know things change, but those rolls were a staple. The new ones change that. Just not the same.

Stopped in with my wife during their soft opening for the new Ghent location. Ate a delicious ham sandwich! Had a fantastic conversation with the owner about her plans for her new store and about what a true Virginia ham is. Welcome to the neighborhood!
