Back in the day this was a Big Star Supermarket, Food Lion has done a great job with this store the produce is always fresh, meat department is well stocked and the shelves in the store are fronted with product Great Job ?

Horrible location. Only one checkout open, and if you have over 12 items you cannot use the self checkout. The lady policing the self checkout was incredibly rude. The actual checkout that was open was being run by three women all at once- one who was being trained, and two others talking to each other and moving extremely slowly.

The other reviews are telling me why so many people seemed surprised that I was wandering around here on foot unsupervised. (I was walking back from the Chrysler museum to ODU.) For me, this Food Lion had everything I wanted. And frankly I was pretty surprised it did because it can be hard to find Diet Dr. Pepper and Fruit and Nut at the normal supermarkets where I live. Everyone was quite friendly and helpful, but (as mentioned), I did stick out a little as a customer. I'm pretty sure the fact that I was so impressed that they gave out plastic bags seemed a bit off, for example, but they were very nice about it.
