This place has a cozy environment, very reasonably priced goods, and makes you feel very welcome. The best part is the community events hosted by Eleanor’s that bring in the kindest, friendliest people. I can not recommend this place enough, it’s a little slice of heaven

I mean def not a place for kids. The literature (even in kids section) is about witches and occultism.I wish there was a store out there that was FOR women but not against everything else. Just info about women. Where the men don't have to be passive just to be accepted. Where it doesnt have to be books about rituals and spells and the celebration of self idolization. Where alcohol isn't 5 feet away from the kids face at all times. Why do children need to be exposed to all of this so early.Anyway, awful place. I didn't spend more than a minute there. I was unnerved by most of it until I saw the children's play area and what was there for them to read and then I was just sad.All a matter of opinion I guess. Poor kids.

It's been some time that I have visited what used to be a little shop of clothing, jewelry, accessories for women. Now it's the home of Eleanor's Norfolk. Store still has quite a selection , but now of self-professed "radical" things - from books to soaps to beverages. I like it when there are plenty of things that peak your interest and there's plenty of space for you to walk around and explore. Didn't quite understand the "radical" theme or the connection of that word to the merchandise; except for when the store signage explicitly indicates "feminist". Anyway....

A beautiful, inclusive place that has local art, sustainable treats and a variety of books. I’m happy I stumbled upon this place.

I could ask for nothing more in a bookstore. An incredibly curated selection, local wines, beers and ciders, along with an eclectic collection of art and journals, etc. for sale. Not to mention the book clubs, community events, and the delight that is Erin, the owner!

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.Absolutely Marvelous and Zealous Independent Nook Gala!!!I did my best haha but yeah, I was in Norfolk for three weeks and as per tradition, whenever I go to a new place, I find a bookstore. And I went to this place twice. I bought 4 books and a super cute and soft T-Shirt. They have book and wine pairings, blind date with a book, used books, new releases, and all specializing in feminist/abolitionist themes. I felt like I was home. Cannot recommend enough. The merch is great, and right next to a great coffee shop. 10/10.

Just did some holiday shopping here and instantly fell in love. What an amazing addition to the Ghent neighborhood. If you love independent book stores with a flare for activism, this is your jam. The owner is a delight, and the selection is both impressive and enlightening.
