This was actually my second visit. I first came across the bookstore 2yrs ago with my brother while looking for another vegan spot to eat at. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and the great hospitality of the chef Malachi that this time I brought the whole family on our visit to VA. Everyone enjoyed the food and purchased many items from the bookstore. This will be a staple visit whenever we're in town for as long as they are around.

I've been going here for years and it's always been a banger but today was bad. I finally tried their vegan oxtail and it tasted decent but it set my stomach off. I'll spare you the details but i've been in pain. Their mac and cheese or "rasta shmack" has always been amazing but maybe because i ordered through door dash it just wasn't as good but delivery was fast and the good was hot when I got it the mac was just not creamy like it normal was but the flavor was their. I used to get their mushroom sand which everyday after school and now that have mushroom pita so im sure that is good. Can't go wrong with their burger and sausage combo. My partner got their chicken sandwhich and sweet potato fries and said they were not that good and it didn't look too impressive to me, wasn't hot when it came. Their smoothies are good and their desserts are normally solid too. Sometimes they switch out chefs maybe that's what happened today, i don't know. A few years ago I had their cauliflower wings which was really good along with the mushroom panini, so anything besides their vegan oxtail is prolly good it just tasted like stewed gardien ground beef with lima beans and it didn't taste bad but it tasted nothing like oxtail, had a not satisfying texture, not to mention the indigestion it gave me and cost 19$ for it with a side of mac.... my favorite sandwhich used to be 6.99 or 7.99 just two years ago :( If your going to up thr prices make sure the quality is also increasing

I'll be honest I wasn't expecting the food to hit but I'm so glad it did. The planet burger is what I crave when I want a veggie burger now. The fries were really good. I like the fact you can get a big tea def bang for your buck. I also got a bean pie, if you know you know. Only one less star because I wasn't a fan of the mac.

When I tell you EVERYTHING about this experience was AWESOME!! They had things to feed your mind, body and spirit! The book selection was great, natural herbs, crystals and jewelry. The 'Chicken' sandwich was stellar. The 'wings'..AMAZING! and the planet burger and mac n cheese left my son speechless. Great way to support the community in this quaint multi-faceted space!

I’ve visited this place a few times. Small cozy home feel to the store. Simple with high vibrations and since it’s small, it’s filled with gems from incense and baths, books and jewelry. The kitchen is open and this food…. IS AMAZING! This time I got cauliflower barbecue wings and it was delicious. Highly recommend stopping by for a plate and a gift for yourself.
