“I have had the pleasure of being a volunteer and a recipient. What does need look like. Hardship has no face we never no what life has in store. I'm motivated by the owners generosity and genuine spirit to be a blessing to the Hampton Roads Community. Every 4th Sunday the food pantry is open for everyone in need. Not only do they provide good food and hygiene products. I'm grateful and impressed by the opportunities provided to the children and families to enjoy the annual bowling back to school giveaways and the various charity events. The village family is such an amazing non-profit organization. Thank you for all you do.”

“In 2022, when I was struggling financially and was unable to save up enough money for Christmas (I usually save up as much as possible & it was even harder with gas being $6/gallon in the summer time...)... So I applied for the Salvation Army Angel Tree & I was honestly in tears! ? Absolutely ecstatic with all of the gifts of clothes, toys & gift cards my two children received! It was honestly overwhelming lol So much so, that I even donated some of the things we received to another family in need that unfortunately missed the deadline for the angel tree!
The only thing I will say is, it IS a bit difficult to wait in line for your donation pick up (especially if you have your kids with you, I had my 8 year old son & 4 year old daughter with me bc i didn't have anyone to watch them that day?), If you have somewhere to be like work at a certain time or if you have a disability that limits you from standing for a long period of time. We were there for about 1hr and 45 minutes... But, it was TOTALLY worth it! Also, everything was like triple bagged in dark red opaque bags, so my kids wouldn't have been able to see anything in the bags fortunately!”

“We absolutely love this YMCA!! Lots of variety of equipment, friendly staff, nice hot tub, and amazing stay and play for the kids! I love the area and everything this ymca has to offer. I've been to YMCAs all over the country, and this one just feels like home!”
“The people there were extremely nice and made me feel comfortable. I did a walk in and I only had a small amount of time. But they had me in and out in under 40 minutes! The place was easy enough to find. I went in the front door and there was a sign on the wall that said they're in 201 so I went to the second floor and there they were.Free snacks and drinks and you get to save someone. I'd call that a good day!”
“My son received the support of a village. The staff were amazing and support for the whole family was constant and his therapist was always available. I was totally against residential until Barry Robinson and now I wish that I had sent him earlier. His, and our lives, have been forever changed and I am excited for his future.”
