“We had the Kuku and Samaki sandwiches. The Kush filling (a blend of grains with seasoning and vegan mayo) was new to us but was delicious and very satisfying. Having grown up enjoying deserts with dairy I have really missed the richness of those desserts until I visited Jakoni Café. The banana pudding was AMAZING and easily as good as the dairy desserts I remember. The shakes were equally amazing. Our wait for the food was a little longer than we expected but the owner saw us waiting and was very engaging and welcoming. We tried the Jikoni Café while visiting Norfolk and plan to make it a stop EVERY time we pass through Norfolk. It was only a mile from the Chrysler Museum of Art.”

“I popped by this business yesterday to say hello to a fellow local business. I met Erin and she blew me away. She is kind, patient, honest, funny, and super knowledgeable. I bought a gently used book on archetypes that became an amazing synchronicity with one of my friends. I also bought a Tarot card deck that I had never seen before and it is amazing! The owners really have an eye for beauty and for truth. I highly recommend popping by this business!”

“I needed a USB adapter. Found just the thing in a well-stocked Technology department, and was in and out in minutes. I've been here several times and found it full of useful items for students and others, with friendly and helpful staff.”
“It's all type knowledge here and good people with great conversations. It's has a family like barbershop feeling to it. You almost don't want to leave from the good informative conversations.”
“I was awaiting a flight and wandered into Hudson News and was immediately greeted with a warm smile and a friendly hello from Ayla the attendant. She was extremely helpful, courteous and personable. I was dealing with a family emergency and trying to get back home as quickly as possible and was so grateful for her warmth and supportive nature. I highly recommend stopping by and hoping you have the good fortune to interact with such a wonderful soul as Ayla.”
“Book exchange is my happy place. I've been going here for 3-4 years and have never had a bad experience! Not only do they have an amazing selection of books which most are in almost perfect condition, it is so hassle free when exchanging books for credit! They don't care if you bring back books that you've gotten from the exchange (guess it's less hassle for them to figure out the 50% off!) They also give you the option to donate whatever books they can't take to charity!!! Employees are also super duper friendly and helpful. Book exchange is the best local bookstore in Norfolk! Do yourself a favor and check it out!”
