Staff was wonderful! Had a very easy, comfortable appointment and for $69 got two pair of glasses and eye exam. Definitely worth going in and seeing if they have want you want or need. I’m getting my glasses from here from now on. America’s Best you just made a lifetime customer!

Scheduled an appointment online over a week before my appointment. I get called about my appointment 3 days prior to confirm. Not once was I informed that the doctor wouldn't be on site. I got to my appointment 11a for 11:15a first appointment out of three and get told it'll be remote without an actual dr in the room but with a technician. A technician is not a Dr.
Also got a lame excuse apology about the person calling me before being new. No matter if you're early for an appointment at this location and attempt to do everything in advance this location lacks professionalism and needs skills training in customer service. They're lacking and I will not subject myself or children to this again.
I Highly Do Not Recommend this location to anyone. Janaf in Norfolk, Virginia requires major overhaul. This incident took place on August 10, 2024 Saturday. Appointment was for myself and my two teens. 11:15a, 11:30a and 12:00pm appointments. No need for me to reach out as my patronage is over with this establishment.

I had an outstanding experience at America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses at the Janet Shopping Center. From the moment I walked in without an appointment, the staff was incredibly accommodating and efficient. They got me in and out swiftly, ensuring I didn't have to wait long at all.
Dr. Gdovin was fantastic—her professionalism and expertise were evident, and she made the entire process smooth and hassle-free. The level of care and service I received exceeded my expectations. I would give them over five stars if I could! Highly recommend this location for anyone in need of eye care services.

*EDIT: They reached out the same day I posted this to do a "one week check in" and ask how it was going. No idea if that's standard or if they saw this review. Staff was very nice, and said I could bring the glasses back and they would fix them, which I did, and they did.
I shouldn't have had to spend ANOTHER hour of my time driving ALL the way back there, and ANOTHER 1/4 tank of gas to get there, both of which were NOT in my VERY TIGHT budget this week. But at least they made it right, and I can wear this VERY EXPENSIVE pair of cheap glasses. 2/$69 is still a LIE.*

Exam was fine, however, picked up my glasses less than a week ago and ALREADY one of the screws that held the lens in has completely fallen out, hit the floor, and can’t be found, making that pair useless.
For what I paid (the 2/$69 that they advertise is a LIE when you add in all of the hidden up-charges) I expected them to last more than a WEEK. Especially since I don’t wear them while doing anything strenuous.
I can get better quality prescription glasses online for 1/4 of the price! Luckily I already ordered a pair from a different online company for $35 (including glare protection and other such features that don’t come with these America’s “Best” broken glasses), so once those come in these bad quality America’s “Best” glasses will only be backups, but I’m not sure why they think these are worth the $150+ dollars that I paid if they break within a WEEK!!

I made an appointment online and got to the store early...Did my pre tests and got my prescriptions updated...My boss referred me to ABC&E... was pumped that I was not goiing to be taken for a ride. Guess I woke up when the bill came and the realty of $69 for two eye glasses was actually almost $400 ... Yea if you don't have bad vision and you just want to have something "pretty" on your face this place is for you.B U T like most people that need glasses with not so perfect vision...will be taken to the cleaners!!!

I had a privilege Of this wonderful young lady assistants. She was very nice, consistently helping me with the best help possible. I mean she went above and beyond. I had a very pleasant experience with the whole staff. But the young lady who checked me out, and assisted me with picking out my frames is the main reason why I'm leaving a review. She smiled and was patient with me while I was fumbling with my cards that was acting up. She didn't make me feel small when it said decline, mind you 3 cards was giving me trouble. That young lady just smiled and said just try again I'm here to serve you. And when it finally work and said see we just had to keep trying. Between that and me being undesive about the frames and just kept getting up and looking all while smiling making me feel good. Like I mattered inspite of my issues. I would recommend you visit this location.

Just want to give a shout out to Christi!! She’s been my tech for the past couple of years and absolutely love her energy and how efficient she is!!! I wasn’t too happy with my sales experience this time which is a first since I’ve started coming to this location 3 years ago. Other than that I always have amazing experiences!
