Vana provided me with outstanding customer service when I needed a vehicle upon arrival at Norfolk Int'l Airport. She assisted me when there were no other vehicles were available to meet the needs of my trip. I will book again with Alamo Norfolk Airport!

Rented a car here 2 weeks ago. Right in the airport no shuttles needed. Love Alamo because we do not own credit cards and this is one of the few car rentals that still accept debit without holding your entire paycheck for incidentals. Absolutely no issues with staff, check in and check out process. They gave us a brand new car with less than 8k miles on it Although it's cold and miserable there right now, they were not rude , pushy and sent us on our way.

Allowed me to make a one way reservation online then when I got to the counter they said they are not honoring "recent one way rentals"....Then why allow me to make the reservation. Time to find a new go-to rental car company.I'll definitely "remember the Alamo"

I have been renting cars for about 30 years and this is a first. I have rented from Alamo before and never experienced a problem. I had rented an suv from Alamo on Travelocity for November 24th Friday 7:00 AM. The return date and time was for November 25th Saturday 10:30 AM. I returned the vehicle on Saturday November 25th at around 9:40 AM. No attendants were on duty so I parked the vehicle and put the keys in the drop box. To my surprise and dismay I had seen an over $500 charge to my Discover card on Dec 1. According to the card company, Alamo listed the rental as being returned on Monday November 27th - which is totally incorrect. I then called Alamo and spoke to an customer service representative whom after I recounted all of this to him, had assured me that he is informing this particular location of the error and that they will credit/refund to my card account. He states I will receive an e-mail to that effect as well within 3 - 5 business days. I will update this review at the end of such time.

In Norfolk VA, I was able to go directly to the desk at the airport and it took just a few minutes for the paperwork. Then I walked a short distant and was able to quickly get my car. The car was in very good shape and ran well. Dropping off was just as easy. It was a great experience all around!

When arriving to pick up the vehicle there was no walk around with an employee. The employee stated when giving me the keys that existing damage on the truck was already noted and documented. Two days after returning the rental I was accused of causing a dent that had previously been painted over with touch up paint. They were asking me to pay for the damage. Then received an email after disputing the issue that the damage was caused by a previous contract.

I picked this place based on the newest reviews of the Norfolk International Airport branch and Alamo did not fail to impress. Pickup was a breeze. No pressure to purchase any add-ons. In and out. Process would have been quicker if I would have done the extra online check in stuff. The drop off was just as easy. Extremely polite interactions. Would use again.

I rented a car from the Norfolk, VA location at the airport, my car ready for pickup after we got through the deplaning process. The agent was very nice, super helpful, and even assisted with an upgrade. We had no problems with our rental and the price was excellent! Thanks Alamo.

We did not have a good experience. First, we waited in a very long line to pick up our rental car because they did not have staff at the Alamo desk and we instead had to utilize the Enterprise desk. We opted for the toll pass because we were advised that we would not have to pay the administrative fees that came with the tolls if we had the transponder. Additionally, we had reserved a toddler car seat. We went through 3-4 different car seats and every one was missing the instructions on how to install and the information booklet. They advised that this couldn't be helped because people steal them. I feel like this could be prevented by insuring the booklet is with the car seat when the seat is returned and if not charging the person who didn't return it or writing it off and getting rid of the seat. They could not assist installing the seat because of liability, but it seems that it is also a liability that they are using these seats without proper instructions. The one star is because a staff member was kind enough to talk me through installing the seat because they didn't have one with safety/installation instructions. As someone with a disability, I had a difficult time clamping the seseat down. There should be a policy in place where members can provide assistance if customer signs some sort of liability waiver. Thankfully I was able to do it, but I feel this policy is ableist and does not consider those with disabilities traveling alone with a child. I recently got my toll pass reciept back and was surprised at the high cost. After looking at the reciept I noticed that I was charged the administrative fees at the tolls. Thinking this was in error I contacted the company. I was advised that by the transponder they provided is NOT an ezpass and that I just "prepaid" the administrative fees the rental car agency pays for tolls but that it did not cover the administrative fee for pay by plate. I feel like this toll pass transponder was a rip off and that I was misled. Customer service was not willing to assist or provide a solution. As a result, I do not recommend using Alamo or associated brands. I paid a total of about $95 dollars for tolls plus about $20 to have the transponder when the cost of the tolls I went through was only about $50.

Our rental truck was awesome! Flight landed and in 15 minutes we were driving out in the rental! The return was just as quick! Good price too.

We can't say enough about the experience we had with Alama at Norfolk International Airport. We were lucky enough to arrive at the counter with only one person in front of us! We felt like we already won. The lady behind the counter was so pleasant and friendly we even laughed and joked with each other during our time together. She was so efficient in assisting us with an upgraded vehicle at a very reasonable price. We proceeded to the garage where we were greeted by another pleasant and friendly gentlemen who quickly gave us our keys and location of the vehicle and we were on the road in no time flat! Upon return we had another gentleman waiting for us. He did a walk around inspection with my husband found no issues and before we had even checked our luggage for our return trip we had an emailed receipt. Definitely recommend and will definitely use Alamo again!Tom & Robyn Zech
