“I am not sure how many years ago we started bringing our cats, and now new kittens, to VCA in Haymarket but it was the best decision we could have made.
We started with three (3) cats, two of which were older and had developed some health issues in their late years. There was never a question as to whether they were receiving the proper care or not with the wonderful staff that works at VCA. They worked tirelessly with us to help our two older cats live out their best lives possible. When our sweet boy got sick, they helped transition us to an internal medicine doctor to help him, which ultimately helped him to live several more months with us before we had to say goodbye
Now in addition to the one loving cat we had left we have over the past 3 years added four more, including two kittens recently. There has never been a question of where they would receive their health care when we adopted them. You could not ask for better doctors in Dr Lucy or Dr Q. They are attentive and so very genuinely caring. Thank you to all the staff at VCA Haymarket for all you have done for us so far ~ looking forward to many more years of working together for our pets' health.”

“My furkids had their first appointment at this clinic today, I followed Dr. Anne Williams here as she's been our vet for 20+ years. From filling out new client paperwork to sending over my old files to making an appointment (texting when their phone was down and online) to the interactions at the appointment, the staff and vet tech are all caring, calm, and helpful!! It's a better environment for us (me & my furkids) and I think for her too!
Our appointment was on-time and NOT rushed! The vet tech asked a lot of questions, was fine when for anything I wanted to discuss with Dr. Williams, stayed during the exam (I never had a tech stay before), and bonus, helped me cleaned a cat butt without a single complaint, stating over and over it's part of his job and he wants my furkid comfy (I have a long-hair cat no matter how drugged he is and how many chill sprays I use always poops in the car, fresh sample but it sticks to his furry butt).
As for Dr. Williams, we adore her. I don't drive 45+ minutes one-way with car-hating cats (and a dog!) for just anyone. She's so knowledgeable about a variety of dog/cat topics, always learning and growing as a vet, believes in modern and holistic medicine, and has always been honest with me. She doesn't do unnecessary tests, vaccines/meds, etc. and this clinic feels like they'll be fine with it (and they don't have fees for every little thing either, it's a bit nicer on the wallet!). She's amazing with my furkids and really cares about their well-being, she's a big part of their health and care!”

“I and my husband have been a client of Dr. Swanson for at least 30 years. My husband passed away in 2015 and I have lived alone with the 3 dachshund dogs we bought when they were 8 weeks old.
We began bringing our dachshund’s to you when your office was across from Jimmy Phillips. Remember the lady who bought the cat in she found on the side of the road. It was injured and very sick looking. You were sooooooooooooooo

One dog passed about 3 years ago due to kidney failure and I still enjoy the company of the 2 females.
They are about 12 years old and recently they became ill with a “coughing wheezing” sound and have trouble breathing. Overnight they turned from active happy dogs into barely eating or moving around.
Now on a very limited income I called Dr. Swanson and asked if he would do a health check on my
dogs but I could not afford to pay for it.
He refused and I understand that. He wants to be paid for the service he renders.
A 30 year client may have been offered a payment option from someone with a heart ❤️ .
I could not have been more disappointed.
