“No public restroom”. How is that you can serve food and drink but not have a restroom open to the public? Ridiculous.

Love stopping in this little store on the way home! Jess is always smiling and is extremely knowledgeable! Heard the pickled eggs were the best in the area? Keep up the great work!

You'd think that the people working there would be friendly being that it's a little country store. I found them to be irritable and rude. And they raised the price of an item that I usually buy there by $2.00 in the matter of a week. Won't shop there ever again!

The old short stubby woman with the short red hair likes to treat customers poorly. She’s been that way for years. Just be prepared before entering.

This was a hard decision, to go with three or four stars. Nostalgia and sentiment make things far more difficult. I really struggled with this rating, as I do love this store and the kind people who work here. It's been a fixture of Vint Hill Road and the Lake Brittle area for years. My hope is it will be, and the old fashioned charm makes it different, although wow this area is growing so much and way too fast. Yet ultimately I have to compare it with competitors. Mayhugh's is a Citgo gas station and general store. I like it for fishing bait, and a couple of snacks before going to the aforementioned spot. Get some candy bars, bottled waters/sodas and those worms. For gas it's a little more expensive than competitors a few miles away, but I've often purchased 87 octane here for a reasonable cost. The store is dated. That makes this special, although it doesn't have a lot of the new options available. It's clean and only has a limited selection, and if you want groceries, it's a good bit more expensive than the major chains. By all means visit it if in the area, as I absolutely love the people here. I hope it stays in business for a long time, and for those in northern Virginia who want to see a general store, this will fulfill that requirement.
