went to sam's club to get a membership...went at 10:30 AM on a Friday......lady at door said the counter was closed and wouldnt let me in....although I see 2 people in line and 3 people behind the counter at registers....i left...then figured would call to see when I could come in....let phone ring for 4 minutes 2 times...no one answers...went to website to put in question...waste of time....website requires password.

Sams gives you the opportunity to check youself out for a speedy visit, then makes you stand in line for 10 minutes just to get out the door. This means you save them money and STILL have to wait. try pickup. Thats a joke on many occasions. I waited 25 minutes. There was only 2 other cars. it's a joke and I would never recommend them. if my daughter wasn't paying the yearly fee, I would never shop there. the price difference on prescriptions are not worth the "I don't give a daXxxxx attitude." You need a prescription of Xanax just to go there.This review is for Newport News, va Don't know how they got Ca. Lololol

Took out a membership last week thinking buying toilet paper and paper towels in bulk would be cheaper but I didn't see a huge difference in price. For a a single person the products are just too big.My main reason was I have been getting thee most awful Ribeye steaks from grocery stores and was told they were very good. I spurged and bought a pack if usda prime. Didn't over power them with Marinade and grilled them on hot coals. They weren't bad but they were not full of flavor like I was hoping. They were pretty tender but just okay to me...

The tire center is full of people that dont care about anything, they take there sweat time doing nothing but ruining your car, full of lazy trashy people!

Now that they have to scan everything in your cart just to get out of the store the wait to get out can almost be 10 minutes. This is already after you have paid for the items. They had one lady with a malfunctioning scanner working on a Saturday evening, the line was all the way to the back of the store. Ridiculous .

Great stock and great prices! This location is always well stocked! I've also consistently have had great interactions with employees and staff! I was in awe of customer service. My only fault is how insanely packed this location always is and how long it takes to get out o the parking lot for this exact reason. I don't think it's popularity and heavy traffic is any fault to the great experience inside of the store, so I still give it 5 stars!

Love me some Sam's Club. Now days everything is so darn expensive. I still like to grab there rotisserie chicken and eat off it for the entire week.

Staff is super rude. Food court is always out of product and closes early. The store is unorganized from top to bottom. Management needs to tighten up on this store. This is honestly unacceptable.

Pro: this location has a larger selection & more variety than the Chesapeake Square location. Con: the associate that assisted us was rude. We used the self checkout, all open lanes were jam packed. I accidentally scanned an item we were purchasing twice. When it came time to pay for our huge purchase the computer stated we needed assistance from an associate. We couldn't locate one. Trying to not impede on the folks behind us, I briskly walked to the member service desk. Associate was helpful. By the time I got back another associate was within reach. We showed her what was going on. My husband made a funny remark about technology & computers. She stated, "I'm one cashier watching over 7 registers." Her remark & attitude was unwarranted. With so many places hiring (not just retail) maybe she should look for another job. He did not direct anything towards her or her work performance. Unacceptable representation on behalf of the Walton family.

Visited the store in Newport News a week ago at 9:30am. The store was closed until 10:00 for VIP plan members, which I didn't know and was okay with. I was going to sit on my car for 30 minutes and wait until 10:00 am. However, I needed to use the restrooms and was not allowed. I was told to walk accross the parking lot and to use the restrooms there. I offered the id checker to hold my drivers license and cell phone until I returned from the restrooms but he will not let me finish talking while telling me to walk to Walmart to use the restrooms. Will let membership expire in June.

I am 63 years old I have been a member for many years and I am switching to COSCO. I shop at the Newport News Virginia store. I got gas there tonight it took me 10 min to actually pump the gas not bad, it took 30 min to get to the pump. I don't mind lines, but when there is chaos from people coming in against the flow clearly pointed out by the arrows that's unacceptable. The person in the pump house doesn't even try to control it. Sams has done nothing to solve it except paint arrows which I guess there is a lot of under educated folks in Newport News they were never taught how to follow arrows. You could install tire grates , concrete turn curbs or there a hundred other options other than this. I know me dropping my member ship is meaningless to Sams But I cannot do stupid any more. After watching the confusion tonight which is getting to be every time I go there and getting worse I'm sure there will be an incident just a matter of time. I would give 0 stars if I could. I'm sure I'm not there only one who feels this way

I need Blinders when I walk into sams.. I go for couple items that I need around the house and next thing I know BAMmmm can hardly push my cart without things falling out.. Customer service can use some tweaking.. But it is what it it.. I can tell you one of the greatest inventions is Ap with the Scan and Go.. thats right you scan your items put them in the cart when your ready to leave to Slide the pay now and SKIP ALL THE LINES.. . truly that easy..
