No communication- called/left msg over wkend. Called today 8/1 regarding msg left for sensory stylist to schedule consult for service 4 braids and accessories/braids. According to associate who took my info that's the procedure.
When I spoke with associate today, she stated she sees the msg and the manager said no accessories/beads could be placed by them ( that's fine). I inquired about 4 regular braids 2 on the top and 2 in the back. The stylist stated no "specialty braids" I asked what does "specialty braids" mean and she kept talking, I asked her 3x and she stated no dutch braids, box braids, etc. I said ok, and 2 braids on the top and 2 in the back and she repeated no "specialty braids".
I'm confused by her statement. on the site it states Braids Simple Braids (fishtail, French, etc). I told the associate i'm sensing some racial overtones/ discrimination about hair. did not ask for extensions or added hair pieces just a service for wash/condition 4 braids and accessories/beads. I ended the conversation and told the associate no longer interested in service and disconnected the call.
If 4 braids 2 on top/2 in the back are specialty braids say that or you don't have someone to braid say that. I would consider the simple braids you offer would allow the style I inquired about to be serviced. Hope they see this too.....

We had a great experience today with Leigh Ann Kurtyka! She cut my 2 year olds hair. He wasn’t happy to be getting his hair cut but she did a great job of making him comfortable and happy. Highly recommend!

My son’s Aunt took him for a hair cut on Saturday, mind you this is the 4th time they have been to this location for a hair cut. We’ve never had any issues before. Not only did they leave with a horrendous hair cut, whoever was cutting his hair said they couldn’t finish his hair cut because he wasn’t sitting still… My sons Aunt had to request that someone else come finish his hair. Can’t believe we paid $30 for the hair cut he received. Very disappointing, will not recommend.

If I could give this place 100 stars, I would usually I have to worry about my two year-old running around, not sitting still so welcoming when you come right in the door they have a playroom kept my daughter busy and she has a hard time Getting haircut, she doesn’t like her hair. There was not a single issue with her Truly love the princess for a day package we did My daughter got her picture a crown a beautiful little bow such a great place if You have a child that may be on the spectrum or has a hard time getting their haircut 100% recommend this place!

The space was inviting and safe for my kids to be themselves (even a potty training toddler!). LeighAnn took care and time with both kiddos and I could tell she really enjoys what she does!!!
Requested style: My son wasn't ready to cut off all his curls and worked with LeighAnn to get a great cut for the summer
Specialties: Caring about and understanding kids is obvious by all the staff we met!!! As a former Special Education teacher I can see accommodations that they (would) make and recommend ALL parents utilize pigtails and crewcuts for their families hair!!!! My shy kiddo opened up immediately and usually takes a bit of time in a new envirnoment!
Hair type: 2 kids with 2 completely different hair texture length and needs!LeighAnn did great with both!
Stylist: LeighAnn is amazing with kids (and their adult conversation deprived mom!) Worked well with shy kiddo and a squirmy toddler!

I would absolutely recommend Leigh Ann Kurtyka to any parent who has a child that gets nervous when it comes time to get a haircut. She went above and BEYOND to make sure my son felt completely comfortable during our visit. He was very reluctant to sit in the chairs and so she accommodated him by offering to cut his hair while he played in the toy room. She did such an amazing job and he absolutely loved her! Thank you so much for making this experience so wonderful for him, we will definitely be back again and again!

Stylist: Leigh Ann was my stylist. This was my first time at Pigtails and Crewcuts, but Leigh Ann has been my stylist for years, and I love her work. I’m always pleased with my haircut and styling from Leigh Ann. She is also an expert in color and highlights. I’ve never left her chair without loving my hair.

Alex did a fantastic job with my sensory sensitive kiddo. My daughter did not immediately take to the idea of having her hair cut, but alex gave us several options to get her seated for a quick trim. Since it was her birthday, I was hoping to do fairy hair for her, and Alex went above and beyond to make this happen. My daughter has told me so many times she’s so pretty every time she sees her sparkly strands. Alex helped to make her 5th birthday super special, and I am so thankful to have a place to do something fun with my daughter that meets her at her needs and abilities. Thank you!

My son, who is typically terrified of haircuts, was treated so very well by his stylist. She spoke with him and included him in every step of his haircut process. She allowed him to play with his favorite thing, bubbles, while getting a haircut and showed him her hair cutting tools before using them each she she used a new tool. Our stylist was always quick to laugh with my son and give him positive affirmations throughout his cut. The facility itself is adorable, and the use of the playroom area while waiting for our turn really helped calm my son down. I can’t recommend Pigtails and Crewcuts highly enough.
