They need to relocate. The surrounding neighborhood is taking it to the city of Newport News to do just that. They do a great thing and keep doing great, but PLEASE get out of Hilton Village...... You have trashed this place

The staff was soooo friendly! The friendliest I’ve seen in along time after Covid. I came to drop off clothes and shoes and ended up getting some. It was my first time and I will be makingmore donations and let others know about the great thing Link is doing in the community ??????

I don't normally need help but this month I did. The staff was friendly upon me entering and cracked funny jokes. However, they ask for your whole social security number in order to get assistance. They aren't using a secure form. Only a Google document that takes the information entered and puts it into a Google sheet. I reluctantly gave it but I know this isn't right. I just needed help and had drove all the way across town. If i see anything new on my credit report, I know who it is. Most getting their services may not question this. But I know this is not standard practice. The directions weren't clear for what I was supposed to be doing. They set a timer and said I had 15 min. I went to the back and turns out I wasn't supposed to be there. The timer was for the clothing closet up front. I mentioned I was looking for a coat for my daughter....turns out they don't have little girl clothes. Just toddler and baby and adult clothes. Why they didnt say that when i mentioned COAT FOR MY DAUGHTER, I dont know. The food pantry is pretty small but is enough to tie you over. If a lady from the back hadn't helped me, I would have been lost and walked out with my groceries in hand. The volunteer didn't even bag my food or show me where the food was. She just pointed and looked away from me. It wasnt until the lady from the back asked her if she would bag it that she actually got up to do anything.Very sketchy and I won't be going back. This is very discouraging and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone

I took my niece there today and she was very satisfied with what the lady tried to help her with and even offered her clothes and food but there was one older gentleman there that was arrogant and proud he does not need to be working in that kind of business volunteering or not.

Horrible place I witnessed donations come in and they take it to the back and take out what they want and put out just a few things of what was brung in staff are very rude at the front desk from the moment I walked in I could here the botheredness in her tone very judgmental how they speak to you it’s clear this is just a tax right off and to receive what they can from funding because this place doesn’t respect or even care about the homeless or anyone in need …….

Tried to stop here a couple times, the first time, we waited and person at the desk seemed to be too busy on the phone and trying to get someone else to come up front that we finally left. The second time we didn't get to go in, my driver was trying to let me out at the front door due to my being on crutches, a man came running out to tell us we can't park there and have to move. Not even allowing me to get out the car first, so we left. Not friendly at this location at all....
