“Akhtar is truly the greatest chef of all time. I’ve been coming to Kabul Supermarket for a long time, and his cooking is the main reason I keep coming back. Every dish he prepares is full of flavor, made with care, and always tastes like a special homemade meal.
Today he made fish for me, and I can honestly say it was the best and yummiest fish I have ever eaten in my life. Perfect seasoning, cooked beautifully, and incredibly fresh. You can really tell how much pride he puts into his food.
The store itself always has great halal options, but Akhtar’s food takes the experience to another level. The hospitality, the consistency, and the quality keep me coming back again and again. If you want amazing food and outstanding service, this is the place to go. Highly recommended.”

“One of the few stores in the state with incomparable customer service, the kindness of the workers and the way they serve make you feel comfortable, you don't wait and the best of all is that you find everything you need. In my personal opinion I give it 5 stars for the way they serve you. If you need a shipment or check collection or something in particular, this store will be your best option. If you ask about Patricia, she is one of the best employees, she will make you feel comfortable and, above all, in an atmosphere.”

“I have enjoyed coming here recently to look for sale items because those are very good deals. The crab cakes are top of the line compared to all other grocery stores in the area because it is pure crab meat no bread or imitation crab. I end up spending more than I would like but I guess that's the point ?
One thing which I would like to see is a scale by the hot bar, they charge by the pound when you are picking your food choices but you have no way of knowing how much is in your container until you are paying for it unfortunately. The closest scale is on the other side of the store.”

Jim answered the phone.. was prompt.. checked the wait time.. asked for a 4pc.. said he could make one for me.. 5 minutes.. arrived at store.. Jim was walking it out.. had great customer service.. friendly.. fresh and hot out the fryer.. $5.99.. seasoned perfectly.. will return just because of Jim!!”
“The variety here is great! I really like how each nationality has its own section. It makes shopping much easier. The fruits and vegetables are super fresh and good quality. I just wish they had more Mediterranean, especially Turkish products.”

“I've been going to the Food Lion at the Hidenwood Shopping Center for years. Their prices are competitive, the store is clean and their selection adequate. However, their main attribute is the staff. They're always friendly and very customer centric. So much so, I've gotten to know many of them by name. Having said that, I'd like to share an observation that I had a couple of Sundays ago.
While standing in line to check my groceries, I was behind an elderly customer. The cashier, 'Evony', was running the cash register. When it was time for the elderly customer to pay, she produced a large amount of change. The customer appeared to struggle a bit counting the change and was quite apologetic for it. Evony didn't miss a beat. She helped the customer count out her change and apply the correct coupons while telling her it wasn't a problem at all. Evony's smile, kind demeanor and patience touched my heart to such a degree, I wanted to share the moment.
If you happen to read this and see Evony at the Hidenwood Food Lion, please let her know that a lot of us customers appreciate her and all that she does.”

“I’ve only had some of their bakery items, but I give each one 10/10!! I’m very picky about baked goods, and these definitely go on the top of my list of favorites. Though I could do without so much icing, it’s still delicious. The icing adds to the flavor of the cake rather than take over. And each cake is moist!! The cannoli was good as well! I ordered all of this through DoorDash.”

“Harris Teeter is a well managed grocery store. It's clean and the shelves are always well stocked. The employees are very friendly and there to help you with your needs. You can find a wide variety of products at a fairly reasonable price. They have an exceptionally good meat and sea food department worth visiting while you shop.”
“Fantastic little grocery store that has almost everything you need for an Asian dish. They had Filipino, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, and some Indian ingredients.Sometime they even have the harder to get Asian fruits like persimmons. In December 2023, they were $2.49/lb.”

“Perfect little Filipino store with a lot of options (snacks, seasonings, sauces, and more). We go here for our lumpia wrappers and sauces, and once we run out of our current seasonings, we plan to buy them here. Very fair prices and super friendly owners! Photo is of the wrappers they sell being used for lumpia. Next time I visit, I will take photos of inside the store.”
“My favorite and local Food Lion to shop at. The aisles stay consistent so I'm not having to search for what I'm looking for. I haven't ran into any issues of things bring out of stock that I need for my home. The staff are so friendly, especially the produce department. They greet you and ask how you're doing or if you need help finding something. They go above and beyond with customer service. As far as checking out, they have 4 self checkouts and most times when I'm there, they have at least 2 registers open. Which I appreciate that because I don't want to self checkout hundreds of dollars worth of food and having the machine beeping at me to remove something from my bag, etc. Plenty of shopping carts, smaller size too are always available inside. Overall, my experience there is always great.”
“I really love this couple. They are so nice and so helpful. I’m glad I was able to get a lot of the things I was looking for: Royal Red Stew Sauce, Egusi Seeds, Fish, Ugu Leaves (Pumpkin Leaves), Seasoning Cubes, Palm Oil (I wish I would have gotten second container), Adobo Seasoning, and few other things. I came all of the way from North Carolina and I strongly recommend them”

I have never seen a place so well stocked, diverse, clean and friendly. I can’t believe it took me 4 months of living in Williamsburg to realize there was a supermarket filled with international goods, I’ve been driving to Richmond just to find a decent Latin / Korean market.If you’re in the area and in need of any international ingredients you simply must come here! ☺️”

“My mom and I went to the Newport News location for the very first time. Although it was a holiday weekend and the store was very busy, everything was in order and easily accessible. Besides the free taste testing the customer service was top tier. Our cashier Lauren at store 0656 knew it was our first time and took such great care of us, with a SMILE. She made our experience wonderful, we look forward to more visits. Oh and they also have a great selection of food. We will be back. Thank you Lauren!”
