Elite pawn shop is a rip off, for anyone who's anyone they bait you in and buy your product and then sell it 40% or 50% above the retail price market value. The manager is very rude and very evasive if you have any type of education. I'm letting Virginia snow what's going on out here in their City, if we don't put a stop to it these people such as Elite pawn shop will continue to take advantage of decent people. What really Burns me up is that he thinks that little bit of money that he gives you for whatever item you sell him that he's doing you a favor, people it's his job! And he picked that particular type of work, trust me people you can't even haggle with this guy, just putting the word out there people, either take heed or continue on with business personalities like such.

Phil is always fair and usually has a fairly vast array of items for sale. Prices are usually slightly flexible and cash speaks loudly here.Known Phil for over 20 years and have always known him to be fair and not take advantage of anyone.

Tried to sale a ring here that was originally over $1,000 and less than a year old and the employee only offered $150. Lol. The store was pretty well stocked so I assume he does good purchases for other things because there wasn't much jewelry, rather lots of musical instruments. Clean store.

I went there twice to see if they will accept a wedding dress I understand that I went back there to try to sell two Bluetooth speakers the guy would not accept it people buy Bluetooth speakers if you didn't accept both you could accept one the small Bluetooth speaker I will definitely not be going back to that pawn shop I hope there's other pawn shops in Newport news or Hampton will accept it

Personally I just didn’t have a good experience.My spouse had originally called to see how the Loan process works and the lady on the phone seemed rude & dismissiveShe told us that “if SHE found value in said items then SHE would offer something.”Fair.I had reread all the reviews because I was excited to come here because of how welcoming the staff seemed from the reviews.We went up there because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt because people have bad days and over the phone it’s hard to tell how someone meant something.When we arrived I still didn’t get that feeling. I understand Pawn shops have to make money so offers may be lower but what I was offered for my item was insulting.The young lady quickly skimmed over them and told me what she was interested in and as she walked towards the back to get an estimated offer for the item. She had mentioned to the gentlemen in the back how they usually go for about $200-$300 retail/online price wanted to only offer me $30.00 cash for it.Mind you, the item I brought in was in great condition and worked!(As she kept looking at the item she kept repeating how “if it works I can offer $30.00)She then asked me what I wanted for it and mentioned at least $100.00 and she just immediately shut it down. Which is completely fair.But overall my main complaint was I felt like the offer was just insulting. I’ve pawned/sold items that were worth less valuable then the item I brought in and even received higher offers on those ?

The best pawn shop in the 757 and any where the owner is always in a good mood and is always fair sometimes I just stop by to talk to him and his daughter they are both great people I would give them 10 stars but I can't I've done business with them for over 20 Years check this place out it won't Disappoint

Edit because I can't respond to the owners comment: the owner clearly told me he did not want it because the person he was buying for thought it was ugly I stood right in front of him and told my fiance he does not want it and we left so he is a liar as well. Horrible business. After emailing and calling back and forth He agreed on buying my item. But when I got there he did not buy it. Waste of time. Won't be back.

I just want to say the owner of this store is a very honorable man. I walked in his business ten minutes to closing with two iMacs one I had wiped clean and needed to restore and other that I had forgot the password on. Instead of being rude or turning me around his employee, myself and he worked diligently together to get my password reset and my other Mac installed. And I was able to get a loan on both. After having a very bad run in with Mercury Pawn this man made my day much brighter. He was able to take my macs in and give me a great deal with a very low interest rate. This guy is really a stand up guy and very business minded. If you want to be treated with respect and get a great deal please go here. He is the best in town hands down. He stayed almost and hour after closing just to help me after I told him what I needed and what exactly I was trying to do. Thank you so much again I am forever grateful.
