Do not recommend this location. I scheduled an appointment on 6/5/2023 for today, 1/8/2024. I had confirmed my appointment online, as well as receiving confirmation texts/emails from aspen dental multiple times throughout the past week including yesterday 1/7/2024 at 11AM. I showed up today at 1:40 for my 2PM appt, and was told that my appointment was cancelled due to a scheduling conflict & they tried to reach out to me the previous week to inform me of the cancellation. I showed the receptionist the confirmations I had received multiple times throughout the week up until yesterday and that I had never received any notice whatsoever of a cancellation. She then guided me to to check my spam folder and proceeded to imply it was my fault for showing up for a cancelled appointment that I did not know was cancelled. The whole matter was unprofessional and not once did they apologize for cancelling my appointment without informing me or for wasting my time, but rather offered to reschedule me later in the month. My question is- how does an appointment scheduled 6 months ago have a scheduling conflict? The response to this was simply "I don't know".

I was a little frustrated because I called and asked for an appointment for a routine cleaning and dental exam. When I arrived they immediately took me back and started the X-rays. However I waited 1.5 hours just for the dentist to tell me my teeth were in good condition but I needed to be rescheduled for a cleaning. How? I specifically stated this was what I needed when I called to book the appointment. The staff was extremely nice and professional though.

I have never went into a dental office and felt happy to be there... until today! From the moment I walked in the door, the staff made me feel welcomed. You can tell that they care about what they do. I give them an A+...I would definitely recommend them!

Definitely felt like a family environment. I wasn’t intimidated or nervous. Soon as I walked in the door the Representative said “Good Morning Jessica.” I felt like kicking my shoes off and relaxing while I waited. :) then when I got to the back, We laughed and joked until it was time for me to go! the whole entire staff was extremely friendly.

The only dentist that would see me without having to wait til the next week!! They were completely booked and only were open from 8-12 pm so I was told I would need to wait until the following Tuesday. The receptionist saw my disappointment and asked if I was in pain. I said yes and I can’t really eat or sleep and haven’t in two days. She went to speak to the dentist and he came to the counter. He said “hi, how are you?” As I started to explain, he took one look at my swollen face and said “nevermind, I’ll see you today”. Fast forward a little while later, I thanked him for seeing me and helping me. He said, “I didn’t want you to be in pain the whole weekend…. That’s what we’re here for”. I can’t tell you how thankful I was that he was so empathetic to my situation. And, everyone there was so helpful and friendly. I’d definitely recommend this location- Aspen Dental in Newport News.

I have 10 years of dental experience and was weary of going to a corporate dental practice but this office exceeded all expectations and needs. Not only is the doctor and staff extremely knowledgeable and have amazing chair-side care but the availability and communication is top tier. I look forward to my continued care at this practice.

The issue with this office is the miscommunication. The hygienist is great but the staff member (name left out intentionally) that calls to verify appointments is very rude. Her tone was very patronizing and antagonizing. She called me twice in one day to remind me of the same appointment in which I told her that we had already talked. She said “maybe someone else called”. I said, “no, (no-name) it was you”. She abruptly put me on hold without warning and came on the phone rudely without apologizing but saying, “yes it was me.. would you like to cancel your appointments!?”. I asked to speak to a manager. I was told “she’s new” but that’s no excuse for having poor customer service. They have to do better… sad thing is I was their VERY FIRST PATIENT AND FIRST REVIEW.

I had a little bit of an emergency. The Doctors and Staff are Amazing Friendly, Professional and Courteous. They took the time to look everything over and set up a treatment plan. I have been searching for a Dentist practice like this for a long time. The cost are very reasonable and am looking forward to continuing my dental care with Aspen Dental of Newport News, VA.

Absolute joke! Avoid at all costs!! I made an appointment a month and a half prior to my appointment date only to receive a call 5 min prior to my scheduled appointment to notify me my insurance was out of network. What's even worse was they called me a week prior to confirm my appointment and advised me that my insurance was good to go! My issue is you waited 5 minutes before said appointment after I took off work and was already in the parking lot of your establishment to notify me "you just realized the insurance was out of network". Super inconvenient! And the nonchalant attitude the staff had that they had just inconvenienced my whole day was unreal! I would never recommend anyone to this establishment! Go somewhere else where your time is valued and they more professional!

I was a walk-in at Aspen dental. They were able to see me within an hour. The doctor gave me a temporary fix and made an appointment within days. They exceeded my expectations.
