Shenvalee is a really good golf course that I thoroughly enjoyed playing. I played all 27 holes and really enjoyed the views the course provided and felt the course was in good shape considering all the heavy rain that has fallen recently. All of the staff were friendly and professional and the golfers were really friendly as well. This is one of the best public courses I’ve played in the Shenandoah Valley and is a very fun layout that isn’t overly difficult.

Very affordable, clean and bed sheets were super soft and made for a great night's sleep. There's a grill on property that is easy to walk to from your room. There's also a diner down the street that's a 7 min walk. It's was a great stay for our mid trip stop.

A really nice, exciting golf course in great condition. The adjacent hotel was nothing special but clean. The view directly onto hole 9 was great. There is also a restaurant right on site. The food was good and cheap. The staff was super nice. We spent a really nice Easter weekend there. Will definitely come back.
Rooms: Rooms are not big but sufficient. Refrigerator and coffee machine available.
Nearby activities: A large park in town.
Walkability: The city is within walking distance. It's not big but it's very charming.
Food and drinks: Normal American cuisine. There is breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Noteworthy details: The golf course was in excellent condition.

Diamond in the rough. I have to really laugh at the entitled snow flakes that are so impatient. They are so worried about just rushing through their round so they can be a story topper in the bar. Always a good experience here.

Great view of the mountains. Coffee machine wasn't great and we were missing a microwave. But not everyone needs it. The staff was super friendly and the rooms were a good size. You can also go for a good jog on the golf course ?

After reading this, I know it sounds salty, but I'm just advocating for what you once had at the Shenvalee. Please bring it back!"Very disappointed with The Shenvalee"For years, the Shenvalee has been a course that was moderately priced and was a regular destination for this reason. The course, which is usually in good shape, is not a challenging course and is great for beginners or for anyone to just enjoy an easier, relaxing track. For some reason this year...new clubhouse?, inflation?, greed?, they decided to increase rates significantly. Weekend rates are now $60 and weekday rates are $50!!! Just last year, I was able to get afternoon tee times there for $25 - $30. And now they're $40 (oh, $35 after 5PM when you might not finish in the shorter months of the year). Everyone understands that price increases are inevitable, but wow!!!The thing that has always set this course apart for me and many others was that it catered to golfers that didn't want to pay $75 at courses like a Bryce Resort or Massanutten Greens.I used to say, this course was fantastic because "they knew how to turn a profit because they know how to get lots of people to come out and play." AND they did it by having rates that were affordable and matched the level of the course difficulty and layout.Well, I can't say that anymore, and I am playing other alternatives now. Thanks for ruining something that you've been known for for many years. The next thing you know, the membership prices will be gone and it will be another exclusive country club in the Shenandoah Valley (which might be what some of the "members" are trying to do).Oh, by the way, while all golf prices have increased and it is quickly becoming a "rich person's sport," here are some other options at nearby courses that are the same price or cheaper but with longer, more modern challenging course layouts (18 holes with cart).Lakeview Golf Course - M-TH - $46 F-S $53Caverns Country Club - M-F - $30; S/S $40 (the Range Shenvalee used to and should be)Heritage Oaks M-TH - $53; F-S - $58Of course, if people continue to pay the rates, why would they ever lower the price. Well, for now, I will save a few bucks per round and go elsewhere. And it really does sadden me to say this as I used to enjoy going there 20 - 25 times per year as part of my 100-150 rounds of golf I normally play each year. Here's to hoping (and I sincerely mean this) you'll change back to that nice, rural golf course you've always been, but probably not. It looks like $$$ you want to be like a "Northern Virginia" course...nothing special and expensive.

Great place to relax and have great conversations. Many people play golf every day here on weekdays and weekends. It has an excellent restaurant and the hotel is cozy and clean. The staff is friendly and the pool is nice even though it's a little pricey.

Old, tired and reeks of musty/moldy smell. Honestly, I cannot imagine this getting a 4 star review unless you want to stay in a men’s dorm to play golf. Room was so musty it even had a dehumidifier. Men smoking cigars in most outdoor areas - including outside front door of the rooms.

100% happy here! Lots of improvements done, and more coming. Always the nicest, friendliest staff to work with. Newly renovated rooms, clean and neat. Come in, play a round of golf, go back to your room, relax, then walk to Miller Grille and enjoy a menu of good food and drinks. Delicious breakfast included with your room too!! And don't forget to visit the Pro Shop. No need to move your car until you're ready to head home. It's all in one spot! Highly recommend this resort! We do 2 trips a year! Try it for yourself!

Come back at 3:50 and now gonna have to wait til 4:30 haven’t seen even started picking yet. Concerning never had this problem before. Left at 4:10 and saw no one picking
