My review is of both the stylist and the salon. Prior to seeing Jenn Snoddy, I had a very positive experience at this salon with another stylist (she moved out of the area) and have met other stylists at this salon (Gena) that I would be happy to work with, had I not had such a negative experience with Jenn and been so disappointed with the overall response from the salon owner. I went in simply wanting to have toner reapplied to my hair. (I have brown hair and am growing out my grey. It helps the roots blend a little to add some green/ash toner to the rest of my hair to reduce the brassiness left behind from previous color.) After my consultation with Jenn I reluctantly agreed to highlights (along with the toner) after stressing that I didn't want something I would have to maintain, and I wanted it to look as natural as possible. Jenn did not think the toner alone would do what I wanted. Jenn foiled in the highlights and toned the rest, put me under the dryer and then took me to the sink. After being at the sink for much longer than normal and having several different things done I asked what was happening and why she was putting so many different things on my hair. Apparently something Jenn put on my hair had turned it blue/purple and she was trying to fix it. She made a joke about not letting me leave with "old lady blue hair" but I couldn't understand why that would even be a possibility. Jenn was not giving me much information. She asked me at one point if I had any burning sensation on my scalp, and again I couldn't understand what she would have put on my hair to cause burning because she had washed out the foils for the highlights quite a while ago. At that point my scalp was tender/sore but the burning (and itching) didn't start until later. When we moved to her chair and she took off the towel and I knew right away something was wrong. I stated that I thought my hair was damaged. Jenn said nothing. A few mins later I asked her point blank if my hair was damaged and she said "just a little on the ends, but that is getting cut off." As she was blowing out my hair I could see the product smoking from the heat of the hairdryer and couldn't understand why she would be applying so much heat to my obviously damaged hair. At one point she caught a section of my hair in the hairdryer and the ends were burned to a crisp while she tried to get it untangled. I asked her to stop. After closer inspection of my hair I again stated that my hair was damaged. Her response was "Oh, you think so? I don't." I couldn't believe that she was denying the damage done. I asked what I should do and was told to "use conditioner." As the conversation continued I also made it clear I was unhappy with the color because not only were the highlights blonde but the rest of my hair was several shades lighter. It was not at all what I asked for. I also still had purple patches of hair. Later that night I spoke with the owner, Lori, who had reached out to me. She was apologetic and seemed eager to do what she could to fix the situation. Even later that night I spoke with Lori again to ask for help when my scalp began burning. After my follow up appointment with Lori I left satisfied that my hair was once again brown (the highlights are still stringy looking) and the pain in my scalp had dulled. But I was incredibly disappointed that I was given only one tube of damage-fixing product and a tiny sample that looked like a left-over free holiday giveaway of shampoo and conditioner. Lori seemed to minimize the fact that my hair was damaged (they did apply cuticle sealer and repairing/moisturizing product) and stated several times "it isn't that bad" and "it isn't as bad as I thought it would be." While I agree, it could have been worse...my hair could have fallen out or I could have had actual burns on my scalp, damage was still done. My subsequent conversations with Lori were frustrat
