Beautiful old victorian home with a gorgeous room. King size bed and fireplace to boot. The owner/innkeeper, Ms Betty, is more than hospitable. She went out and got some Maple sugar donuts to have in the common area for us guests. I had to leave early so she packed me a breakfast for the road. It is also right on top of the downtown area, but not in the middle of the action. So it's a bit more peaceful/less traffic. Magical experience - Thanks Betty!

Food was a little cold, but I did warm it up. Breakfast lady was nice but a little bipolar. Comfy beds, although I had to share a room with a random person. They did have an xbox with MineCraft on it. Overall i would recommend.

This is a charming place in a quiet, peaceful town, however they really need to hire a housekeeper. Our room was relatively clean, but the stairway was coated with dust and cobwebs. And, I have doubts that the sheets were changed after the people prior to us. The lack of air-conditioning was kind of surprising, but since it's in the mountains it was bearable. I felt the price was a little steep considering the cleanliness and the fact that "breakfast" consisted of powdered Tastycake donuts, a little bit of fruit and some Activia yogurts.

My husband and I came up from Washington, DC to spend the weekend in Highland County, and we discovered this authentic and classy Bed and Breakfast near beautiful farmland. The decor of this place is like something from a historical novel. The owner happened to decorate the house and each room in the style of what the classic authors such as Charles Dickens and Jane Austen portrayed in their novels.
The host is quite attentive and great to talk to. We had some great conversations with her during breakfast time, and learned a lot about the surrounding areas. It's in a perfect location, only half an hour from Snowshoe Mountain and the Greenbrier River trail in West Virginia and near some beautiful trails in Highland County.
I highly recommend the place.
