I had a horrible experience today. I went in and picked up bagels and a couple of more items. When I went to check out through the self checkout, Regina, an employee of Kroger, came up to me and said that when I shopped at the store last Sunday, I didn't pay. I was incredulous but explained to her that when I was checking out last Sunday that the register said that I needed assistance. After waiting 3 or 4 minutes without seeing anyone, I moved my groceries to the next register and checked out there. She still insisted that I hadn't paid. At this point, I asked for a manager. I told him my story and he apologized for the incident. I have since returned to the store with a printout of a screenshot of my bank statement showing that I had paid. He said that it wasn't necessary but I felt the need to prove that I wasn't a thief.
I will never set foot in this store again. There are way too many grocery stores nearby to risk being treated this way.
