Jay, the proprietor is awesome and very careful to explain the process and benefits of digitization. He is moving early next year to the Chesapeake Bay, but he’ll still be in business. I have been very happy with the two batches of film and video I have brought him so far and I just dropped off a third!

This place is awesome. Jay takes extreme care and pride in what he does, and it shows. He happily took the time to chat with me over the phone even before I became a customer of his, and when I came in to drop off my stuff he guided me through the ins and outs of the formats I was working with and even wove in some little history tidbits about each of them!The end results were very nice, too - for my first trip I only elected to get my VHS tapes digitized, but the color and clarity in the final result is much nicer than the tapes look when played through my own dirty old VCR. I suspect true film formats would have even more impressive results, given that he scans each slide by hand, and I'm tempted to bite the bullet and get my family's old Super 8 home movies digitized as well.

This family owned business offers reasonable prices and goes to extra care to keep your valuable memories safe and covered by law while in their possession. Do it!! Take your film, slides, photos, and documents to Memory Box Archives, then enjoy them all on your smart TV!! You won't regret spending the moolah!! Do you know why? One can't put a price on one's memories!

I took over 850 35mm slides from my family archives to get digitized. I was impressed when I first talked with the owner about the care they take with each slide when digitizing them. I also liked the idea that my slides were not being sent out of state to some lab. When I took my slides in I had them organized into 19 different stacks with each stack being a different folder. The name of each folder was clearly printed on top of each stack. The slides were also in chronological order within each stack. Each stack was also rubber banded together both ways to prevent any possible slippage. I also told them that all the slides were in the correct orientation as well so there was no guess work on their part about which way the slide should go. All this organization took me HOURS to do. When I picked up my order a couple weeks later I was shocked to find approx. 150 were reversed, some did not get scanned at all, some got scanned twice, some were in the wrong folders, a vast majority were out of chronological order and one of the original slides I did not get back at all. I was so disappointed that it took me a couple weeks to calm down before I called them. The owner initially was a little defensive but in the end offered me a chance to come back to the store and sit down with his employee who did this work and get everything corrected. After SEVERAL MORE hours of trying to figure out what had to be corrected in each folder, I made an appointment to go back in and get everything fixed. Within a few minutes of my arrival I was asked if I wanted a total refund, which I accepted and walked out the door with absolutely nothing to show for all the hours of work I put into this project. If you are looking for good customer service and attention to detail, sadly, I can not recommend this local business based on my experience.
