This is strange as we have left a couple of these reviews here but keep being removed.
A couple of years ago we took our 3 year old here as we were new to this area and let's just say that there's more drama here than a soap opera on the CW. We were frequently called by the director to pick up our child in the middle of the day that he was "acting up". We found out that they were short staffed, and used this as an excuse to get rid of our child instead of telling us the truth, but still had to pay for the full day. This lasted a month and when we expressed our concerns with the regional director, it was met with a skepticism condescension and animosity.
The next day, my wife didn't even make it home from dropping off our child to come and pick him back up. We both went and you could tell this wasn't their first time dealing with this and the look in the director's eyes, we knew this was going to get a lot worse. We were told to stop coming there, but denied ever saying anything of the sort.
We went back to our old daycare, which we had to drive 20 minutes out of the way, but it was well worth it than paying Childtime a full week for basically 5 minutes each day.

I use the Bright Horizons back up care service to make reservations for daycare for my son. I had a reservation for today that was scheduled for a long time. When I showed up to drop my son off I was told that there was no room for him because of staff shortages. They stated they tried calling to let me know (which was false, I was never contacted). Bright Horizons was also never contacted to let me know. Child Time dropped the ball on this one and caused a major inconvenience for my family. Will not be selecting this location for the future.

After 8 days at this center my husband I decided to pull our 15 week old out due to lack of overall care. This was meant to be a temporary situation due to our original center not having our spot available when they had originally communicated. In the 8 days our child was here, we checked the camera frequently witnessing our child only being taken out of the crib to be changed and fed. Rarely was there any interaction. He would be placed on a mat long enough to snap a photo with an iPad, post it on the app and then right back into the crib he went. We expressed our concerns to the director (her response was dismissive and defensive) 4 days in and nothing was communicated to the classroom teachers resulting in another 4 days of our child spending the majority of the day in his crib. Overall, our child was provided the absolute bare minimum and we were sickened to witness the lack of care provided to him.

We moved to Richmond and started sending both our boys here August 2023. The directors and the teachers have been nothing but warm and welcoming. The app is really easy to use and the chat feature with the teachers works great. I love having the video feeds into the classrooms. I trust that both of my boys are being cared for effectively and lovingly!

Amazing Daycare! We have loved every minute; supportive staff, caring teachers, and clear communication. The app is great for checking in, seeing feedings and nap times, and getting photos throughout the day. Highly recommend this facility!

This facility has changed so much! Not sure if it's corporate but I have to say that the Teachers, Team Lead and Assistant Director are absolutely amazing!!!

Not very organized, I tried to schedule a tour of the facility and was called because it had to be rescheduled because the director would not be there which is no problem. The next day she called to confirm the appointment the meeting time. I knew I was going to be running a little late an hour before the appointment so I called to let them know and was told that a Mr.Waters called and moved my appointment time. Now I don’t have a husband and my father doesn’t even know I’m looking for child care. When I tried to let her know that no one called in my behalf and that she had something mixed up she kept telling me my appointment had already been rescheduled…. I have no idea who the man was but the whole thing just made me uncomfortable

Last year I purchased a flex pass for my daughter to attend a few days that I needed here and there. I paid $363 for 5 days. In a year, I've been able to use only one day. I was instructed to call the morning of and see if there was an opening. My husband and I have called at least 20 times throughout the year and there is never an opening. Recently I called to inquire about a refund for the remaining 4 days, understanding that they are short on staff. No big deal. If you can't hold up your end of a transaction, provide a refund. This location has a new director from the one that sold me the pass. She told me she has been there since October and has never heard me call, calling me a liar. And if she replies to this review saying she didn't call me a liar, she is a liar. She told me again there was no space, in fact they had to close an entire class down the previous week. So if you're considering this location, know you will be scrambling for childcare if you use them full-time. Additionally, she informed me that I cannot have a refund because I am able to use any of the Childtime facilities, which I was not told this by the previous director. Nor would I have been ok with it because I have not toured the other facilities, I have not met those directors or teachers. I did not purchase a flex pass for my dog to be boarded, it is for my daughter. How can I be ok just dropping her off for the day just anywhere? How would any daycare, that takes care of the most precious things in our lives, think this would be ok with a parent? Immediately now I do not trust Childtime with my kid if they feel she is like a dog. I am uncomfortable with my daughter ever stepping foot in this childcare again. The director began backtracking and saying she will see if there is an opening next week. Again, I'm uncomfortable with my daughter going there again but that is also not how a flex pass should work. I need it when I need it, not when it is convenient for them. I understand the problem with the short staffing. Maybe the pass shouldn't have been sold to me in the first place but they were happy to take my money. So just give me a refund for the remaining days and let's call it a day. I called the corporate office to inquire about a refund and I was told the regional manger for the area would call me. So far, no call. I plan to follow up. If someone sees this review, please call me. If this review gets deleted, I will post again and again because people need to know that this facility is dishonest and therefore untrustworthy with your children, especially the ones who cannot talk for themselves.

This Childtime location with Connie as the director do not care about your children. They only want "easy children" at the Alverser Drive location. We started there the 3rd week of August 2021 and less than 4 weeks later we were asked to withdraw our 2 to without any warning. There were no behavioral warnings at all yet Connie called out of the blue to say our child "climbs too much and they dont think they can keep him safe." She said they could keep him through the end of the week but that was it. This is after several times they had sent him home saying he "just didnt seem like himself" and that his poop was not solid enough. Each time they sent him home he also had to be out the next day even though we took him to the doctor and he was never sick. It broke down that over the course of the first 3 weeks he attended we wound up paying $975 for just 9 full days of childcare. We called customer service to ask about their sick child protocol and the following monday way the day we were asked to leave for "behavioral issues". I have used backup care at different Childtime locations in the past and never had an issue. Unless your child is just a complete breeze to work with 24/7 they don't want them. To top it off, when the district mgr called me back to discuss the issue she just kept repeating how hard it must be to find out that my child has "behavioral issues" instead of trying to look at the real problem. If you ask me they are just in it for the money and no other reason. Connie, the Alverser Dr director, and Angela, the district manager dont care about you. They dont care about your child or your child's wellbeing. They only want the money involved. DON'T send you child here!

I do not have my children enrolled here and would never consider it. I did have an experience with them today when they visited Midlothian Library on a field trip. I observed the teachers not being engaged with the students, the kids destroying the toys, being rude to others at the library and not picking up after themselves. I addressed my concerns with a teacher who brushed me off. Very rude staff.

My granddaughter has been going here for 4 and a half years, her development is more than we could ask for , the director and staff go out of their way to make sure everyone is welcome.

The assistant director should not be allowed to be around children. He traumatized my two boys. Do not send your children there.

My 10 month old started at Childtime in August and we could not be happier. The staff treats my son like he is their own. They give to so much love and attention as I know they do with every child there. I would highly recommend Childtime to anyone looking for outstanding childcare.

We feel very fortunate to have found Childtime of Midlothian, VA. Their staff and director are first rate and have shown and demonstrated a genuine care for our child, and the other children there. I know when I drop him off he will be treated with love and care.

My 5 month old started attending this location a month ago and she took to them immediately. I knew after my tour that this would be the place for her. Miss Leigh is wonderful and clearly cares about all the children there. The awesome ladies in the infant room take such good care of those babies, mine included. My daughter loves going to school and is clearly excited to see everyone when we get there in the morning. I feel lucky to have a place like this so close to our house AND on the way to work.
