I had a longtime career in Facilities Management for major Fortune 10 companies so therefore, I am probably more aware of poor maintenance, code violations and overall aesthetics than most. There are numerous issues relating to outdated inspections, cleanliness (curb appeal too), broken equipment for weeks (including water fountains), AEDs not mounted on walls for easy access but hidden under the front counter, clutter, lack of organization, etc. Overall, I would rate this facility (Midlothian) a C-/D. I am willing to talk personally with someone and provide guidance on how to develop SYSTEMS to take this facility to a level that matches the membership fee. I hate to admit this, but at Crunch, you can join for $9.99/month and their aesthetics are like AMF but you only pay $9.99!! This is expected considering "you get what you pay for" - well, not at AMF for the price you pay. When something is broken, it is usually due to People, Products or Processes - in this case, it is definitely your people and processes (or lack thereof). Please let me know if you would like my support and with years of experience in FM for companies (Altria, Campbell's, Boeing, etc).

Front desk was rude and petty and instead of kindly saying sorry the front desk lady made sarcastic joke. But the trainers are great.

American Family Fitness discriminates against the differently abled. The management is trash and should feel horrible about themselves. They're honestly lucky they haven't been taken to court over their practices.

The perfect spot for me to continue my recovery from a hop replacement, with several different machines to increase and restore leg strength, and treadmill where I can be entertained with a TV program while doing some otherwise boring miles of walking here when the weather outside is unpleasant.

Great facility, plenty of machine options. Plenty of classes to choose from. Friendly staff. One downside - there is an overpowering chemical smell in this location specifically. It doesn’t feel healthy to breath the air inside the gym. I looked up the ingredients of the spray used for the machines, definitely not healthy.

The front desk staff at this location is extremely rude, they don’t even take the time to acknowledge clients walking in. The facility is nice and spacious. The schedule for the group classes is all over the place with not enough strength classes in the mornings. As for the format I prefer LessMills. There is a camera in the yoga room that makes me feel very uncomfortable, I don’t want to be doing downward dog and have a camera pointing at me. It should be removed and it should be placed some place else. Seriously thinking about switching to a gym with a better vibe and customer service.

Love the gym and can’t wait to take pool classes but boy the staff needs a revamp! Such rude people at the desk, I’m sorry I wanted to simply check in and had to stop three people from gossiping just to check in. Hey if there was a self check in I would gladly use it so you all aren’t interrupted from your serious conversations of what you did yesterday.

Stay away from this gym!! The vibe is horrible because of the rude staff. A personal trainer named Sonia was so nasty to me that I had to cancel my gym membership on the spot. To makes matters worse when I addressed her behavior with her manager the manager was snarky and unapologetic about the whole situation.

Loved the gym but they keep on taking out things without reason. Locking rooms and removing equipment. Its also been years and every time i ask i get told soon, when will we finally have our 24/7 hours again? If you don’t want to adhere to something your customers bought atleast increase the hours in which you stay open. Either way just be honest with your employees and customers so we can plan accordingly. If you are happy with staying the same thats fine. just let us know so we can look for another 24/7 gym. Also bring back the speeding bag in the second floor. I dont mind changing the review to 5 stars i just ACTUALLY want to see some improvement. Without improvement things slowly die off. Thanks
