This USPS stole $150 of my money. In three separate transactions, I was charged a total of $150 for fingerprinting. They said that I have to call a number to get a refund. I called their account help desk number, and it is only automated and offers no options for a refund. I would appreciate a call back or email ASAP to fix this situation.

Today, I was dissatisfied with the service at the passport office in Merrifield. Despite having booked an appointment for 11 am, I found myself waiting for more than 15 minutes in my queue. The process for passport renewal took longer than expected, and the employee at the counter was serving customers at a slow pace. Please do not write that appointments take approximately 15 minutes per person.

I've visited this USPS store on several occasions and each time my experience has been positive. The staff members here are friendly and helpful. The service provided is good.

My experience at the Merrifield post office Dec. 26, 2023 was horrible. The day after Christmas there were only 2 people behind the counter. The 2 customers at the counter both were shipping internationally. There were 4 people ahead of me and the line did not move. I only needed stamps. I will not go to merrifield post office AGAIN. The post master needs to look at schedules and time of year and schedule employees accordingly. There also needs a window designated for international shipping. Upper management needs to go under cover to really see what customer service is really like and the amount of time it takes for one transaction and how many staff are behind the counters.

If you have a fair complexion, don't bother getting a passport picture taken here because they don't know how to use the camera. Ours was returned by the State Dept for being out of focus and overexposed. When we tried them again they took the photo the exact same way and said that's just how it's going to be and was visibly annoyed that we asked them to retake the photo. It was a waste of time for minimal effort and a bad attitude.

Very professional and polite staff. We visited on Saturday without appointment, but our application was accepted after reasonable waiting time. Right prior visiting this USPS office we had really bad experience in USPS Oakton office, where arrogant, unprofessional lady employee refused to accept my son's passport application asking for unnecessary additional documentation.

Had a 9 am appointment for my son's first passport, was out by 9:11am. Quick, thorough, friendly... amazing experience here. Thank you!

We were second in line on a Sunday for a Passport on walk-in. There was a 9 am there but they didn't even fill out their paperwork prior to coming to the appointment, don't know why- but... Gloria was amazing with us because I read the directions on the application and I prepared for the appointment like I knew you needed check to pay US State Dept, etc. She even noticed I prepared for the appointment and commented as such. If the people didn't read the directions - like having to have both parents present when applying for a child's passport it was only to my advantage being a walk in because their "appointment" was quick. It's amazing to me how many people don't read directions prior to taking a lot of time reserving the appointment times and essentially not using the time appropriately -but, again to my advantage. Essentially, if you want to be seen efficiently- prepare for your visit and be nice to human beings - they will show you compassion and kindness when you do. I was in and out of there in 45 minutes being second in line for 2 new passport applications on a Sunday.

Probably one of the busiest post office in Fairfax, Virginia due to it being the main hub of the county. I used for a mailbox, and it’s been perfect. The main post service shop can sometimes get a long line with only 2-3 postal clerks on the counter. There is one issue I have that is concerning. On several nights when I came me to pick up my mail from the box, there was a homeless person either inside or just outside of the door.

Walked in on Saturday September 30 2023 to submit a new childrens passport application, and walked out after the line hadn’t moved for 30 minutes. Giving 2 stars because I admittedly was a walk in without a reservation and the employees appeared to be genuinely helping the customers, but 30 minutes without moving is too slow.

Have a package sitting at this location since August 29, 2023 and here it is September 14, 2023. What’s the problem? I’m sure it’s not that busy that a simple package can’t be sent out. I bet this is the mail graveyard. Letters and packages that never make their destination. I’m done with ordering online because USPS, UPS, FedEx and DHL really suck.

Twice in one week I've had a horrible experience with this place. First day man told me "we just process the mail. You have to go here. I can't help you" Even though it was showing that my package was there and waiting. Package got kicked around Northern VA for a week when it finally arrived back at this place. I requested for them to hold my package 30 minutes after I saw it arrive on the tracking at 7:30 PM. Go there when they first open up, woman pretended to be helpful. They haven't processed the mail yet but let me check. Nope, you have to place a package intercept. "Please move to the side, I'm done with you."What they don't tell you is that is $17 + original postage...so $40 just for them to do their job.Sure FedEx and UPS are typically more expensive but at least they will actually give you your package.Editing to add: package was finally received by the person who sent it to me…absolutely nothing wrong with my address on the box. The second usps employee said I would see the problem…the only problem is the ineptitude of all postal employees. Zero stars if it were possible

I haven't been to the post office in over 5 years. Why? I don't know. But I recently opened a small store online and started to ship way more than in the past. I here to say a special thank you to the female employee who helped me the afternoon of 1 July. She was walking the floor helping other customers. She taught me how to use their new systems and tips to conveniently ship my items. Now I am self-sufficient (mostly). Thank you for going the extra mile to help a newbie. ? ? ?

If I could give her 100 stars, I would give her 100 stars to Miss Janet Gordon she has the best attitude when I was in line waiting for my turn. I saw that she made a lot of customers smile she was always smiling She's very sweet she is very attendant , friendly kind. I learned from her crying to acts God bless her.

I made on line shopping last month, when I received my order noticed low quality of the entire order. I tried to return them back to the sender which was not clear on the site but had an attachment on the package so I took it to the USPS office in Sterling. USPS agent name INHAE was completing my return by printing the label and attached it on top of sender’s attachment. I noticed it but didn’t say anything since she works in that office as long as I remember. Yesterday, I had a text message from USPS sending me the link to provide them my address and bank account information ( USPS official site ) to deliver back my returns because of no returns address. I am sick and had to be in bed but had to go to USPS office to give the address. Guess what, she didn’t accept what she had done and said no why should I do that? she told me this is her job and doing it everyday how it’s possible? then she asked me to step outside to wait for her supervisor. I stepped out and supervisor was rudely talking to me and asking me why I didn’t stop her? then she told me my package in another location around so she gave me customer service’s phone number to call. I called that number and office is closed weekends and regarding 4th of July would be longer weekend. I called another location which she said my package is there and being on the phone and automotive answering was not helpful at all. None of the options in the list was my concern and I’m keep asking to talk with Agent after wasting hours I decided to write the review for the first time in my entire life. None of this would happen if the Post office agent INHAE was doing her job a little more consciously instead of trying speed up even there was no one else in the line. So upsetting to see even she was not trying to apologize for her mistake and more upsetting her supervisor was even worse not to try solve the problem instead, telling me I should warn her employe to not to make mistake. Really?
