“Great place to buy stuff and everyone working there has always been so nice but I’ve called or stopped there to donate things seven times as of today and even when I’ve called or gotten there before noon the sign that they are full for the day is always up. It’s a waste of time. Everyone is very nice about it, but I wouldn’t waste your time dropping by there. Easier to donate elsewhere unfortunately”

“I go to Goodwills all over Central Virginia and this is one of the better ones. I go for the household items and this store had plenty, including a nice set of 6 green salad plates I bought for $4.99 or about 83 cents each. This is a nice large place, looked well organized, no problem parking and if you are in the Glen Allen/Ashland area this is a must to go to. I drove 35 minutes to get to this area and hit 8 thrift/antique stores on a Saturday. Great area to shop and 2 Goodwills to go to.”

Her drive to help you, and her Spirit within is Awesome! I drive several miles to come and shop at Southside Cares Thrift Center. “Furniture prices often start out high, but they get marked down regularly. Good pricing on other items, and they mark everything down regularly. The store always has a large inventory. Not the cleanest place. All items in the store are 25% off every Tuesday.”

“I visited this Goodwill on a Saturday in Ashland hitting all the thrift/antique stores and if I buy something it automatically gets 5 stars. I go for the household items and this Goodwill had plenty of great choices. I have no idea how each store prices their merchandise, but this Goodwill seemed a bit higher priced then the nearby Glen Allen store. This is a must to go to if you are doing the thrift/antique thing.”

They have been an incredible support for my handicapped niece, always treating her with kindness and respect. The staff never hesitate to help her find what she needs, and they always greet her with a smile. Their generosity is unmatched—they often provide free medical supplies to those who need them most, without asking for anything in return.

“I went here for the first time yesterday to sell some shoes. Prior to this I’ve gone to Plato’s Closet multiple times. I must say, much MUCH better return on my items at Buffalo Exchange hands down. In addition, the service was absolutely amazing… everyone was so nice. Mind you, they were not able to accept all my items, but the reason I was given made complete sense and I was assured that they actually took the time to inspect my items before deciding not to accept them. This is now my “go to” place for selling all my clothes and shoes.”

Edited to add: a lot of reviewers are saying it’s over priced compared to before, but I think it’s reasonably priced compared to thrift stores in the present moment. I got a $4.95 tee shirt that would have been $10+ elsewhere or more for “brand name”. I suppose YMMV”
“You can find some great stuff here but they are way overpriced for many items. The prices of shoes are wild! $15-$25 per pair. Goodwill has them for $8. Clothes are priced high too. I'd recommend reevaluating these to move it out quicker. I would probably spend a lot more here if the prices came down a bit.”
