Sr. Helpers has been providing wonderful companion care for our mom for the last year. Barbara, the owner, was willing to adapt their services to our specific needs & the caregivers are truly the "dream team" - they are reliable, caring, compassionate & engaging with our mom. Our texts & phone calls are returned promptly & they are always open to our suggestions & input regarding our mom's care. Their support is what is allowing our mom to continue to live independently, and we are so grateful!

The owner likes to run the show and does not give family the option to disagree. It's her way or the high way. When the family wanted to make a change, she pulled out of the contract (which she can do--but the family is obligated to two weeks notice). In this case the owner is always right--not the customer. When I told her what a caregiver said, she called me a liar. Families beware. Run. (Forced to give one star rating.)The owner is trying to look good to the public with a disingenuous response FOR THE FAMILY TO GIVE HER A CALL to make amends. Maybe she lost our phone number? ;:-)

Senior helpers has been caring for my father for almost four months. The caregivers are capable and caring. The owners are responsive to calls and emails even at a late hour. They are very active in monitoring their workers. With the nurse aide shortage due to covid, some shifts could not be filled. They work with another Senior Helpers franchise to fill shifts. I would recommend this company to others seeking care for their elderly parent.

I would not recommend this company, we were sorely disappointed with the lack of level of care and experience of the employees. The employees tend to focus more on their own personal devices (iPads and phones) than on the patient, often completely ignoring the patient at a time they need the most care in their lifetime. They cannot handle common problems without calling the director. They do not get your loved one up in time to eat breakfast often going into the lunch hour without having eaten breakfast. They lack much basic medical knowledge. I have never posted any review but I feel inclined so that another family does not have to face the stress and disappointment that we did.

Senior Helpers stepped in when we needed them and couldn't have been more wonderful. Super accommodating, patient, kind, Wanda was just unbelievable with my father-in-law. Super trustworthy and engaged him in activities he enjoyed. Great communication and although it seemed very pricey at first, they were well worth the extra money as they went above and beyond every visit. Thank you!

Senior Helpers (Wayne and Barbara) have been providing personal care assistance for my elderly (88 and 84 years old) parents for at least 6 months now. Although my parents' situation is difficult and trying for a number of reasons, Wayne and Barbara have been consistently reliable, helpful, patient, and understanding. They have dealt with a seemingly endless range issues and obstacles that have come up based on my parents' situation and have always worked diligently and compassionately to resolve them. They are extremely responsive and attentive. On numerous occasions, Barbara has called or answered her phone while away on vacation to help with something and Wayne is always willing to answer questions on billing and insurance and work with you until things are resolved. Wayne and Barbara are personally invested in the care that Senior Helpers provides and it shows. This is not some faceless organization where you will end up buried in red tape or talk to different people each time you call. Highly recommend.

Sr Helpers Richmond has been working with my special needs sister in a group home. They responded to my request for need immediately. Communication is excellent. The group home staff has only great things to say. Sr Helpers is purely professional and all that we could want. Thanks to Barbara and Wayne for providing this service.

I cannot say enough good things about Senior Helpers. The owners of this company are very involved with the caregivers who work for them. The helpers who came to my house were wonderful and worked hard to be sure that I was comfortable. The owners checked in every few days to be sure that things were going well. I was sad when I had to say goodbye to the women who had been with me for two and a half weeks. I would recommend this company to everyone looking for help and or long term care. You won’t find any other company that is as kind and caring as this one.

My family is very pleased with Senior Helpers. We were in a panic when my Mom was being discharged from the hospital in the midst of the Corona virus. We did not want to send Mom to a rehab facility that was locked down from having visitors for 2 weeks. We decided to have in-home care instead. We made a phone call to Barbara and she met us at my parents' house. She assessed Mom's care needs and recommended an approach to provide the right amount of care for her. Care started within a day after that meeting. The caregivers were wonderful! They were experienced, and great in caring for my Mom and even assisting my Dad as needed. I would recommend Senior Helpers Richmond to anyone looking for in-home care for themselves or their loved ones. It was a great experience for us!

My family is very pleased with Senior Helpers. We were in a forced bind when our Father returned home from the hospital and needed immediate care. My brother made a phone call to Barbara and she was at my Father's house within minutes. She took the time to explain thoroughly how they operate and all options available to us. Since then ,almost 3 months, her team has gone way beyond our expectations with the care and love they have provided for our Father. My family is blessed to have found Barbara and her team of such caring individuals. I will be referring them to another family that is in need of care as well.

Senior Helpers is outstanding and in fact worthy of 10 stars. They not only had a positive impact on my mother-in-law’s life, they were lifesavers for us. We work full time so the weeks were very long and lonely for my mother-in-law. I found Senior Helpers after checking out many places and when I met Barbara I knew this was a great decision. Carrie was her companion caregiver and a perfect match. She is sweet, honest, dependable and patient. My mother in law looked forward to Carrie coming to her home each week. Carrie had a profound effect on my mother in laws happiness and week being. Needless to say, she also had a positive effect on our lives in that we knew my mother-in-law was in great hands. I would highly recommend them. When I get old, I hope they are still around because I would trust them. Thank you Barbara!!
