I shop at Pleasants Hardware every week. I buy everything I need there. I love the personal attention they give to all of their customers. They help you find what you need. The prices there are very good and the quality of everything is great. This store is my favorite place to shop.

I was happy to see pleasants only a mile from home. Loved the one in Richmond. It was so nice for the first year but the employees that work there now are so nasty. My last 2 times there were 2 employees talking about doing drugs and they were looking forward to getting their hands on some ( white stuff). The last time which will be my last was the same girl talking to another girl at the register about a customer who was in front of me saying old people should not use or have cards if they do not know how to use the tap feature. Laughing and smirking. I will pass on this place!

Do not buy Stihl products from them. $700 hege trimmer didn't work from the day 1 and they won't take exchanges or returns. Instead they will charge $37.50 for a diagnostic fee and get back to you hopefully 2 weeks later.

One of the best things about dealing with a smaller hardware store is I usually don't have to wait. Parking is much easier than the big box store and I can get help when I need it

Needed mulch and hardware parts. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The mulch was loaded in my car without asking for help. This is never an option for big box stores.. Parking easy to get in and out. This is a convenient location with a grocery store, hardware store, restaurants and post office.

So glad for the location (It matters). I do like the place. For a small HW store they've always had what I needed. Every time I've been there the personnel are eager to help and so polite. It has the nostalgic personal touch one would appreciate.

As hardware stores go these folks are a mixed bag. Their website expresses concerns about Covid-19 and six months ago they did wear masks. As recently as last week none of the clerks were wearing masks. As previously noted I've found items with the same skew marked with 2 different prices and I can usually get the lower price. Home Depot has the same issue. When I asked about canning jar lids in February they said more were due to arrive in April or May. I checked almost every week until mid May when I found them at Kroger. I continued to check sporadically thereafter and never saw any. There are a few knowledgeable clerks but most have demonstrated how shallow their knowledge is. On the bright (and unexpected) side they are fairly well equipped with marijuana growing supplies including grow tents, Fox Farm soils, cloning hormone (Root Tone) and cloning cubes. However, don't as for something simple like CalMag or expect them to know what fertilizers are appropriate for a specific application or which ones might have specific nutrients. To most of them fertilizer is fertilizer. Like I said, there's a shallow depth of knowledge. I'd rate them slightly above Home Depot. They're close to where I live so I tend to shop there and I pay a bit more but it's convenient.
