I don't usually give 5-star reviews but this one had everything going for it. Not from this town so we just happened to stop by. It is a small family-owned Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was casual and friendly and we felt very welcome. The owner was walking around checking on things and making sure customers were happy. The waitress was very nice and kept everything filled and even served our pizza. Now the food... we had a half cheese half meat lovers pizza, chicken picata, chicken marsala, and lobster ravioli. The pink sauce and house sauce were phenomenal. Food was hot. Pizza had great flavor, even in the crust. Everything was just on point. Recommend giving it a chance!

We had take out with delivery! I got frutti di mare. Tonight, I ate left over because there is so much seafood and noodles. I have some left for tomorrow night too. It is delicious. I get seafood each time I eat out (once a week). This is the best! So much seafood but lots of noodles too. But the noodles don’t dominate, the seafood does. There is so much seafood, I didn’t bother to count and it is claims, mussels and shrimp! Usually it’s only one type of seafood. I love it.

Had the best italian dish ever here. Little pouches stuffed with cheese and porcini mushrooms with alfredo sauce. SO GOOD! every bite was heaven. Hubby had lasagna which was good as well. Bread is like heaven! Service was excellent! Can't wait to go back!

Service was spot on. The food was excellent! The pizza is so good, might be my new favorite. The chicken Philly & Italian subs were delicious & the lemon cake was very good. We have never been here before but will definitely be coming back regularly

I really enjoyed our first visit to this Italian restaurant. The staff was welcoming, and we sat down right away.We started with the calamari. It was lightly breaded and crispy, with a fresh flavor.I got the lasagna, which tasted like home. It was delicious. There was plenty of meat, pasta, and cheese, a perfect balance. The sauce wasn't overly sweet. The tomato was very evident in the sauce. The Caesar salad was fresh, the dressing flavorful, not bland. The bread was hot and yummy.I can't wait to go back!

I have done two different take out orders. One was supposed to be a margahita pizza that was obviously had canned tomatoes on it because it was soggy. It was awful due to the sogginess. The second order was a Pasta dish which I requested No hot peppers and there were some one there. The bread was dry and not even garlic bread. I do not know what is happening with the restaurant, but I think it'll be a long time before I give them a third try.

Food was outstanding once we got it. Took FOREVER to get an order in. And make sure you’re not thirsty…never got a refill even after asking. To top it off, we ordered a pizza for our son to-go and after asking, finally had to go to the front to ask where they said it was ready and while ago. Again, while the food was really good, will not be back for sit down service.

The restaurant smelled like someone had an "accident " in the seating area or they were having issues with the bathrooms, and we got there just as it opened, so it must have been one of the staff. That was very off-putting, and I didn't want to order much. The prices are WAY too high for what they offer. I will not be returning.

Lidia's Ristorante in the Rutland shopping area of Mechanicsville, VA is a hidden gem. We go often on Sunday after church and enjoy a quiet lunch. They have great pizza, subs, pasta dishes of all kinds, an we enjoy the salad with grilled chicken with the house Italian dressing. Casandra and Sarah are wonderful waitresses and make you feel like family. The food is always good and served with attention to detail. It looks as good as it tastes. There are many good Italian places in Mechanicsville, each with something to offer, but if you want good food and great service, Lidia's is the place.

This night the soup of the day was minestrone which I love. This was not like any minestrone I have had. It was mostly broccoli and thin spaghetti. I really don't like broccoli so couldn't eat it. I then ordered some meatballs. They were "okay ". But mushy. My daughter got the baked ziti with meat sauce. It also was nothing great. The garlic knots could have use a lot more garlic and not baked so long. They were really browned and hard. Maybe they had been reheated. The place is very pretty and they wait staff very friendly. The choice of music was a little odd for an Italian restaurant but the house wine was very good!I may go back and try a pizza but there are many more Italian restaurants better
