A while back I visited almost every auto body shop in town looking for someone to paint my 34-year-old Ford F-250 pickup. It was badly rusted, paint was almost completely gone, and some body parts were damaged. After visiting many, and after working the phone looking for shops in central Virginia, I happened to run into Steve Robinson of Capital City Collision. Steve was pretty up front with me, telling me that my truck was just going to take too much work and would block up a shop for too long. BUT… he did agree to take it if I’d just leave it, and they’d get to it whenever they had free time. (I’d learned from the others that these shops make their money from the insurance company jobs; full repair and repaint jobs just aren’t where the money is.) He warned me it was going to take a while. And it did! BUT, I recently got my truck back, and it looks just like it did the day it came from the dealership in 1990! Ford’s two-tone red and white paint looks original! They’ve matched up new rubber accents and replaced mirrors and pin stripes. They even took dents out of trim and replaced a rotted-out bumper. This truck looks brand new! (Did I mention they cleaned, removed and replaced the painted in bed liner?). My goal all along has been to return my father-in-law’s favorite truck to good condition... and these guys overshot the goal! To Steve and all the guys there, I say Thanks! A big thank you for exceeding all my expectations! And a special thanks for what I consider to be a more than fair price! You guys are the best!

I just don't understand what's going on at this place. I called to get an estimate for repair, body/frame mounts rusted. I spoke to the owner who stated he doesn't do anything without an appointment, so made one for 9am the next morning... just for an estimate for potential work to be done. After not hearing anything all day, I called around closing time to find out he needed to keep the truck overnight for some reason bc 'his mechanics had him running around all day'. I asked if he could please pull the truck into the shop if we were going to leave it overnight. He asked why and I stated there was several thousand dollars in new front end parts and a new catalytic converter under it. He got an attitude stating he has never had a theft there before so no, he couldn't pull it in the shop. Then why did you ask? 🤔 After the entire second day with zero communication and zero estimate completed, we went to pick up the truck right before closing bc he obviously was not going to complete the estimate. When we got there to pick it up, no one knew where the keys were. Upon finding the keys and leaving one of the mechanics called the owner who stated he was in the process of writing up the estimate. It's been 2 weeks and I haven't heard a thing back. Not sure what's going on there, but it's not estimates or customer service. If I could give zero stars, I would.

This is the most unprofessional place I have ever taken a car too. I will NEVER bring any of my vehicles back and I will NEVER recommend this place. The owner is arrogant, rude and unprofessional. Upon picking my car up a half a tank of gas was gone, it was not at the location I dropped it off, trash was in the vehicle and there was dust all inside my vehicle even though they were only working on the outside. The owner was not cooperative with my insurance and was very rude to them. No one answers the phone when you are trying to get an update about your vehicle. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN AND THE OWNER NEEDS TO TAKE A CLASS ON CUSTOMER SERVICE.Services: Body & Trim

These guys do it all! Had a serious frame repair needed on a 4Runner and not only did they agree with no hesitation, they got me in and out of the shop in no time and at a fraction of the cost other shops estimated me!!! Super sweet guys, extremely responsive and very trustworthy! I’m glad I found a shop so close to my home, I had no hesitation about being in the right hands!

After taking my truck here to have the frame welded and undercoated, they turned my steering wheel upside down. When I went back to talk to Steve he said he never worked on my vehicle and that he could fix it for more money, I have the receipt and would never advise anyone to take their vehicle to them.Services: Painting

They took care of me and my car. I was trying to avoid going to a dealership to get my fender replaced and some more cosmetic repairs because they’re always overpriced and find unnecessary things to charge you for, so I did some searching for a small business car shop and found Capital City Collision and spoke with Steve, the owner. My repair was a little behind because one of the parts he got sent did not meet his standards, so he ordered me a brand new one from the dealership. I didn’t mind waiting an extra day or two if it meant I was getting quality work done from someone who takes pride in what they do. It looks great!Service: Body & Trim
