Stepping into the Mayberry Trading Post is like walking through a portal to simpler, more charming times. Established in 1892, this historic gem captures the essence of a bygone era while seamlessly blending in modern comforts. The rustic charm of the original structure is beautifully preserved, offering a nostalgic peek into the past. Visitors can delight in the eclectic mix of local crafts, homemade goodies, and unique finds that cater to both the traditional and contemporary tastes.
The staff’s genuine friendliness and knowledge about the trading post’s storied history make the experience even more enriching. It's a place where you can lose track of time, savoring the old-world ambiance while enjoying a modern twist on classic treasures. Whether you're a history buff, a fan of local artisans, or just in search of a cozy spot to unwind, Mayberry Trading Post is a timeless treasure worth discovering.

Don't miss this store. It sits on a parallel road to the parkway. It's worth turning around for. A blacksmith gives demonstrations, too

Stopped here while driving on the Blue Ridge Pkwy recently. We had stopped here previously about 3-4 years ago and the place was depressing. This store is now under new ownership as of two years ago and the new owners have revamped the store with new fun merchandise, an ice cream freezer containing ice cream sandwiches, a fridge with cold drinks and other items. I encourage anyone who may have stopped here more than two years ago to give this place another try.

WOW! Just WOW! What an amazing place! So much history! The owners are friendly and knowledgeable. So many things here. From essentials to crafts, it’s such a great stop. Old fashioned candy, yarn, books, shirts, kitchen towels, shaving cream, Vienna sausages, diced tomatoes, painted saw blades, hand made soaps, and so much more! There’s a Saturday farmer’s market until 1 pm. Definitely worth the drive!

Just a cool Old Country Store, even if you don't do nothing but stop and get a soda pop like I did a must stop

New ownership has done a great job of remodeling this historic shop. Cleaner, brighter, lots of interesting new merchandise, but still keeping respect for tradition. If you haven't been in a while, check it out next time you're up that way.

A must stop!!! We just found this historic gem & cannot wait to return. The owner is a lovely lady. The artwork and pottery is amazing & local. Live music really complimented the place. A great place to picnic.

Delightful family-owned store (150 years!) with little bits and bobs. Worth the quick stop to see the old post office.
