Great stay, but average breakfast.

Comparing this Staybridge to other sites in their comparative set is what I intend to do here. The location is great! Can't be beat! The property is fairly well taken care of, but it could use an update to the furnishings. We were really disappointed in the lounge reception offered only Mon, Tues, and Wednesdays. Beer and wine were offered, but the food options were pitiful. (Picture provided) only Mac n cheese ? and shredded chicken in a paper bowl. Other Staybridge Suites have offered a lot more, like salad, chips and salsa, or tacos ?. Everyone at the front desk was awesome, and so was the housekeeping staff. I also like the underground parking garage. I would stay here again if I need to, but I would like to see some improvement.
Rooms: Rooms are spacious and well-equipped with the things you need for your family. The kitchen is well-equipped, too. That's why we choose Staybridge.

We checked in to the hotel and went directly to our room. Room 302 (2 bedroom/2 bathroom suite). As soon as we entered the room, we noticed a very heavy mold/mildew smell that permeated the entire living space and one of the bedrooms. I have allergies so I knew this was not good for me and immediately went back to the front desk to ask for another room. I was informed that the hotel was sold out and there were no more rooms available. They offered to send maintenance to the room to see if they could figure out the source of the problem. Maintenance came in and looked at the filter in the AC unit which they said was clean and the only thing they could do was spray some deodorizer?! They refused to do anything else so our only options were to live with the smell or find another hotel. After driving the entire day we were too tired so we just stayed any way. The next day I requested another room and again was told "we are sold out and there's nothing we can do". I don't find this acceptable to not offer any assistance on this matter. This was not a slight smell. It was an OVERPOWERING mildew/mold smell that was disgusting. We could not use one of the 2 bathrooms the entire stay because it smelled so bad. Besides this the front desk was rude and the most unfriendly employees I have ever seen at any hotel in my life. The only hotel employee who I witnessed interacting in a positive way with any guests was the woman running the daily breakfast. The overall cleanliness of this hotel was seriously lacking, the place is run down. The only reasons I selected this place was because I stayed here about 10 years ago and it was great & it had easy access to the subway. Now, everything has completely changed....the hotel is awful and there is no way to park at the closest subway station. Please read and do not ruin your vacation like I did. Please for your own sake, choose somewhere else!!!
Also as a side note, rooms are only cleaned once every 7 days. Otherwise you have to stop at the front desk and get supplies which they are constantly "out of" when you ask for things. Unbelievable that this hotel is still in business.

They charge $10 for parking…As a platinum elite IHG member and card holder who was trying to use my anniversary night, this review is a warning to future guests. Just called the hotel and found out that starting tomorrow they will be charging for parking because they will be under new “ownership.” It’s a bit shady to say that right before I’m about to make a reservation, plus on your website and among your other guest reviews you guys clearly did not charge for parking. It’s a shame considering they have such high reviews. So NO free parking.

Please read the edit below!
We were treated above and beyond by all of the staff!
*Edit* After receiving our final bill, we would like to add that our room was booked through IHG Members app for 157.00 a night. After leaving we received a bill for 350.00 our 1st night and 230.00 the second. We are top tier with IHG And have been for 4 years. This has never happened before at any other hotel. This is PRICE GOUGING at its finest. Absolutely ridiculous!

Michael at the front desk went above and beyond to help me and my crew. I run a moving company based out of Greenville SC, and when we arrived I noticed the parking lot would not accommodate our 2 trucks. He showed me secret parking spots on the street where we could safely leave our trucks without having to worry if they would be towed. Also he was resourceful on restaurant recommendations for the weekend. He deserves recognition for his professionalism!
Walkability: Multiple restaurants, a grocery store, coffee shop, and cvs nearby.

Very clean. Nice service, tasty breakfast. Free parking. The armchairs in the common area (canteen - breakfast) show signs of wear, but this proves that the hotel is a popular place - which means that it is good.
Rooms: Clean and spacious. The bathroom has a bathtub with a shower. A well-equipped kitchenette: fridge, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, dishes, cutlery - a big plus.
Safety: Parking right next to the hotel. I felt safe. Friendly service.

I would like to thank Beverly for her exceptional customer service and friendly disposition. She was extremely helpful and professional. Awesome first impression. Great location, rooms, and parking. Didn't have time to check out the pool (maybe next time). Overall, a great stay for work.

I hope I am not too easy but I am comparing between hotels. This Staybridge is walking distance to about a dozen restaurants; it is modern, and they had a god sized staff. Free laundry and breakfast; large private pool and a manager reception on Mon., Tues., and Wed. Suites have all you need and though they only clean the room once a week, they were quick to replace any items you might need.
Rooms: The room we had was under the roof coolers but we quickly evolved to hear it as background noise for sleep.
Food & drinks: You are walking distance from a CcVS and a Giant grocery. Also, there is a concentration of nice Italian restaurants. My fav was Santinis Deli . Good pizza and subs. Already missing that choice.

The breakfast was absolutely terrible. The eggs were disgusting and the selection of breakfast items was minimal for such a large hotel. Even the oatmeal was mushy and gross - I"m not sure how you can mess up oatmeal so bad. The coffee was one of the worst I've tasted. The room felt very dirty, like the carpets had not been cleaned in a long time, and one night, a HUGE centipede was crawling on my ceiling above the bed. The AC was very loud. The Happy Hour was also very disappointing and small.

This place was awesome. Free breakfast had choices of fruit and two waffle irons available with hot plates having omletts, home fries, sausage. A cereal bar, juice and soda bar. Front Desk people were kind enough to help us get some ketchup at 11pm at night after a snack run. The suites are super clean. The beds, while small are cozy and just the right amount of soft and firm. Extra pillows and blankets are available in the room with silverware, mini kitchenette etc. Perfect bang for our buck, we will be coming back! We will be bringing our furry baby next time so she can enjoy a vacation too. This location is dog friendly without smelling or looking like it. Even the pool is gorgeous. Shaded and a bit smaller, still can fit round twenty comfortably. With a life guard on duty. Loved it here.
Rooms: Rooms were super clean. As a previous hotel worker, I know the things to look for. This place checked all the boxes AND excelled.
Safety: Parking was a bit iffy outside as they were close to full capacity. You have to go inside to check in and get a key to us the indoor overflow parking beneath the building. The elevators from the parking garage do not lead directly to the rooms but to the lobby. I felt while this was a minor inconvience, it added to the safety feel.
Noteworthy details: The bathroom doesn't have an auxiliary fan. If your a fan of hot showers, it's gets hot quick. The door leading to the bathrooms is a roller door to save on space, some may not eprfer this. The safe and closet are located inside the bathroom which can be minorly inconvient. The water closet is a locked door in the living room. This had me confused (why not switch the two?) But overall, LOVED this place.

Very nice suites. The whole facility is very clean and well maintained, including the cozy grilling and outdoor spaces in the courtyard. Reasonably priced, especially for inside the beltway. Big shoutout to Beverly, the charming and super-helpful receptionist!
Rooms: Spotless, intelligently configured, with nicely outfitted kitchenette.

Stayed here a few days to see a specialist for a procedure nearby. Very nice rooms, great location, decent breakfast. I have to take a star off because the AC unit is in a small closet in the bedroom and is just so damn loud when it turns on! Wakes me up at night and is unnecessarily loud.
