Was truly so disappointed in my visit today , I never had a bad experience at Sephora like I did today I had to leave because how uncomfortable i was . The Sephora worker I asked for help rolled her eyes at me and started giving me so much attitude for no reason she clearly didn’t want to help me . She addressed me in such a rude manner as a Sephora worker myself I would never speak to a client like that . Very disappointing won’t be coming back .

Absolutely terrible. My daughter was at this store looking at the hair products when a worker came up to her and asked her if she needs something for her acne. My daughter followed her and the worker showed her all of this stuff that wasn’t cheap and trying to get her to buy all of them. My daughter went home crying feeling insecure about her acne after finally regaining confidence and accepting her acne. As I called the store to tell them what happened, there was a voice recording talking about how Sephora is a place that is all about making people feel beautiful. My daughter’s experience should not only be taken into consideration but this lady should be fired and there is no way she should be working at this store that supposedly is all about making people feel beautiful. My daughters experience today made her feel ugly and hopeless about her acne. Thanks Sephora. Will be shopping at Ulta now.

So rude on multiple occasions. To all the Sephora employees: If I'm standing in a spot, minding my own business looking at an item and you are helping another customer, and you say "excuse me"; I am moving out of the way so you have space to quickly grab an item to show your client; not so that you can bully me out of my spot where I was ACTIVELY browsing in.
I don't understand this lack of spatial self awareness but I have been repeatedly bumped out of sections so that Sephora employees can prioritize whomever they're assisting. But guess what? I was already standing there!?! Literally rifling through the same Anastasia brow shades for the medium brown I always purchase only for you to think that "excuse me" is somehow synonymous to "move, you're in the way".
It seems like this happens when they're helping other customers like it's so difficult to work and be a mindful human being at the same time.
Basically, if a customer is able to flag down an employee during the zoo like weekends at the mall, they basically have a fast pass to cut in front of people sampling products or god forbid, taking a minute too long to grab the right brow shade.

Most of the staff is helpful and friendly except one I came in contact with . Spoke with manager on duty forgot her name but she was kind and understanding. I appreciate that. Selection of merchandise at this mall is good too. On a different occasion, I came back and multiple employees walk by and don’t sat anything. Not even a simple hello. This location is hit or mess. Either everyone is helpful or none at all.

I went in today and the lady who I asked if I could use this paying Apple Pay, she goes hi how are you and I responded I’m fine, how about you but clearly she didn’t hear me since so many people where in there and I felt annoyed because I did respond and it felt condescending when she asked again Anyways, she directed me to the line but I have went in and asked if I could pay stuff via Apple Pay so I don’t have to stand in line since they offer the solution of not waiting in line and the employees use their mobile device of the store to check you out if you use Apple Pay on the sales floor. The other two employees who helped me out during that process were super sweet but this lady today was just with attitude and felt like she didn’t want to work there

Wednesday afternoon, the girl at a checkout register, I think her name is DaCe’ or something close to it, was friendly and attentive, even though she was very busy.
However, the girl at the perfume section in the back whom I asked questions briefly was not ; probably thought I’d not make a purchase.

I am amazed this location remains open. We were 15 people waiting in line for the cashier. Yes. One cashier, by herself, taking her time to check people out. This happened at 1 pm on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024. There was a blond employee who would go behind the counter and remove baskets. But to my surprise he neither helped open another register nor called anyone for help. Twenty minutes later, I am still waiting in line. I called the blond employee over to ask him about opening another register. His name is Arum. He said everyone was busy helping customers. The store was indeed busy but I saw several employees walking around and not busy. I told him this was ridiculous. He walked away. Another 10 minutes passed and I still had 4 people ahead of me. I am traveling overseas tomorrow and was picking up last minute items for my trip. I decided to not shop at Sephora. Instead I would buy what I need from Dulles Airport. As I was leaving, I asked the lady by the door why was there only one cashier. She was lovely and said she would call a manager. Guess who? Arum. I don’t know why he is the manager. I did not think he knew what was going on in the store. I have owned an Aveda Salon & Spa for over 7 years and I would never have let my guests wait in line so long with only 1 cashier. Why didn’t Arum open a register himself? Why didn’t he figure something out to resolve the issue?
I will not buy again from Sephora. I saw today that it does not care about its guests. Perhaps Arim could become a good manager with better customer service and training. I don’t know. I also don’t care for a company that does not care about me.
I will follow Sephora’s stock. I cannot imagine it will go back up.
You should have done so much better. But there are so many stores like you but they care.

I visited the Sephora Tyson’s today around 530 today.I was standing by the ABH products checking out their new cream blush and noticed there were only 3 testers but not the actual product to buy. A sales associate walked by, I stopped her to ask about it and if there are any left, she barely glanced at it and said no probably not. This same sales associate came up to me later two additional times asking if I need help (she clearly forgot she approached me already) I told her no, she had already came by twice. She walked away huffing saying “well that’s my job to ask” I understand very well it’s your job but if you want to help maybe give it a bit more effort the first time.
For anyone willing to drive down, visit the Potomac Mills location. They are so kind there.

Sephora HQ go ahead and make a visit surprise on a Saturday at that store with hopping to catch exactly the same employee you had on staff today Saturday 11-5-2022
Unprofessional low-class behavior towards its customers. This one young black employee of the store kept yelling shouting around the store towards its customers. When asked if she could help out her replay was “what you want”? In a rude unprofessional manor. There is a tone of a professionalism which should be used. You should investigate this further and fire her.

Great stock of items, but the employees are so inconvenienced by customers. Sephora has a questionable initiative where they give everyone portable "registers" so the employees can assist customers away from the counter. I suppose this was intended to result in increased efficiency and assistance for customers, however the reality is that instead of waiting in one line at a register for assistance you now have to hunt down an employee. At this store, that involves overcoming their attempts to avoid eye contact at all costs. Recently, I successfully captured an unsuspecting employee to get help with a return.
Now this is a bit of a vent - but Sephora decided to nickel & dime customers - free samples are no longer provided. The company/employees cite "COVID" as the reason without any further explanation. Therefore, it is impossible to try new items without purchasing them and returning those that I don't like. Would I rather not do that? Sure. But I'm not wasting money to hoard unwanted items.
So anyway, here I am trying to return perfume and the man assisting me told me that I can only get store credit (not my money back). I said that isn't in the return policy. He said "well I'm the manager." (Surprising that in a room full of women, at a beauty store, Sephora still found a MAN to be the manager, but, I digress...). I said that's nice, but unless you own Sephora you are probably required to abide by the return policy. He said "okay but just this once." I confirmed that he has the ability to process my return, but was simply choosing not to until I argued about it. He angrily muttered some more stuff about being the manager and handed me my return receipt.
Yuck. Will be staying away from this Sephora. I have been generally unimpressed with Sephora's product quality lately, but if you must....the staff in Mosaic (Fairfax) is delightful. It's a short drive, go there instead.

Unfortunately, the staff who work in this store (Tyson’ Corner center, McLean VA ) should receive more training or be replaced by people who really know how to work with the public. All the times I've had to go to this store I've never been well served, I always have to look for someone who can help me and when I find them, they help with a bad attitude. Honestly, I prefer the store in Clarendon, Arlington Va, 100%. I truly recommend to go there, they will treat you very well.

Check out line wrapped around the store with only two taking payments. Free sales personels behind the counter laughing and talking and standing around the store doing nothing. Seems like there should be better management of resources. I waited at least 10 minutes for one item. Shameful!
