For personal reasons, I decided to pay my monthly loan amount in person at the bank and discontinued auto pay. I thought the grace period was 15 days and, apparently, it's 10 days. I was never told once when making my payments in person that I had a late fee. If I had been told the first time, I would have been able to pay my late fee and not accumulated more, plus, I would have not had a few months in my late payments (which, again, I did not understand were late) reflect on my credit (I am very upset about this as this is the main problem). If someone is making a payment to the bank, don't you think they would tell you if there was a late fee?? Or at least ask if you wanted to pay your late fee as well? The late fee also doesn't show up on your personal banking website, nor does it even show how it's calculated or what the grace period is. Personally, I would save yourself the hassle if you want to get a loan and go to another bank that is more conscientious about your needs as a customer rather than a robot that just takes payment money. Not mentioning that there are late fees online or in person is a disservice to all patrons in this respect, not to mention the bank loses out on money they could have had earlier. Information is not easily forthcoming with this bank.
