Hi - I have been going to Pure Barre McLean for the past 1.5 years. I appreciate the community, experienced and motivating instructors, and variety of classes (classic, define, empower etc). Recently I had an issue with billing (pure barre app is deceptive with monthly recurring subscription versus one time package) and I realized too late that I had been getting charged for the last year+! Gracie the manager /owner was responsive and took care of the issue to our mutual satisfaction - I really appreciated that. Please try it out as an alternative way to stay strong, flexible, and work on balance and core.

I love Pure Barre. Classic is a great way to get yourself back in shape and work on your body in a low-impact way. Stretch and Restore is so relaxing. All the teachers are very motivating and definitely pay attention to making sure you are getting the best workout for you.

I would like to remain anon because I am a dedicated client.I love the workouts here and most of the teachers. Lately it seems that the attitude of some of the staff isn't great though. One teacher - Mae - is always late to class with excuses. Us clients have waited so many times outside a locked door. She comes 5 minutes late often. It's a waste of my time because then the class ends so late when I have to get to work or take care of my kids. This is very unprofessional, especially because clients are told the studio doesn't allow late entries and that timing is very important. The desk staff have always been so welcoming. Gabrielle and Lena are so friendly and attentive. I'm seeing some new faces at the desk now and they barely talk or they have their nose in their phones or are doing something else. I asked a question to one of the new front desk staff and she didn't even look up to acknowledge me. I asked again and she finally dryly answered. I don't know what's happened but it seems like the quality has gone down and they are hiring people who don't want to be there.I love the classes it just really pains me that some staff don't make these expensive classes worth it. At a high end fitness studio like this, paying clients deserve to have strict professionalism.

I have taken barre at Pure Barre McLean over the years since it opened 8 years ago and also did the videos religiously when the pandemic hit. Nothing beats going to the studio for the great music taught by the sweet instructors who are always helping adjust you so you get the most out of your workout!
It is amazing the strength I can build in a short period of time when I dedicate myself to going several times of the week. (A variety of class times throughout the day to accommodate everyone’s busy schedules!)
For the best challenge and best results, I recommend getting the monthly unlimited package - each time I sign up for the unlimited I get hooked and toned up in a matter of weeks! ❤️ ???

I enrolled in Mclean location because I can't go to orange theory anymore due to COVID. Barre is low impact, so I want to at least do something to keep fit. I had good experience at beginning, I enrolled when they had 20% off for the first 3 months. They are ridiculously pricey, with 20% off I still pay $160 for unlimited classes. I told them I would be interested in other promotion if they have, I don't want to pay $200 full price. So when I asked about near new year, Gabrielle Marrapodi, who is apparently the manager and the boss of the studio, kept dodging my questions, didn't want to tell me anything about promotion. In stead, she kept asking me to downgrade to 8 times a month for $159 membership. I told her I'm not interested, because their classes are so low impact, I don't feel sour or anything after class, so I would love to go to classes more than 2 times a week. After so many back and force, I still couldn't get anything from her. So I decided to cancel my membership. In my last month their, Gabrielle Marrapodi kept giving me troubles, I called to cancel once due to an emergency, she canceled for me on the phone, with all the nonsense she's trying to say on the phone, she didn't even bother to tell me she charged me $15 dollar for the cancellation. I found out the charge after seeing my bank bill. I was mad and called her to refund me. She then told me it's their policy... I know this charge is at their discretion, I did a cancellation before I canceled my membership, never got charged. She just wanted to give me trouble. I was then try to talk to her supervisor, then she called me and said she is the supervisor, I need to tell her what my complaint is. Well, I have done that but nothing was changed. Towards the end of my membership, I couldn't book my classes anymore from the app, it said I'm out of credits. So ridiculous, I am so tired of the game they play. I stopped going, and disputed the charge, thank goodness my bank is awesome!I would not recommend them to anyone, the classes are all the same, no distinctions even they have different names. They are here for your money, that's all.

I loved my previous PB studio and thought no other would ever compare after I moved, but after a month at PB McLean I feel right back at home in the studio and am very happy with it! Motivating, friendly, and knowledgeable instructors and barre tenders, many class time options, and the studio is clean and well kept. I always feel welcomed and comfortable when I am there. Can’t wait to work towards all of my milestones again here at PB McLean!

Please read recent reviews before joining. When I first joined Pure Barre McLean, it was a lovely exercise community full of encouragement and run by people who I felt cared. However, in the past 6 months, the studio has "gone corporate". Now, everything is run by the rule book and the goal is clearly to reduce costs and jack up revenues. Prices have gone way up, and they have eliminated many classes (practically all Wednesday morning classes for example) without notice. I was 5 minutes and 30 seconds late to a class after racing from the airport and I was not allowed to enter (a pretty empty) a class- I was told "rule says can't be more than 5 minutes late..." Back when I started, the manager was kind and would have made an exception that cost the studio and class nothing (they were still in first set of exercises and whether I was 5 or 6 minutes late is immaterial). When I tried to get out of my contract to switch to a different studio "you missed the deadline by a day, you can't get out of your contract for another 59 days". This was after they canceled a week's worth of classes right after I had committed to the contract. A week later they dropped the classes that I attended 3 days a week. Basically, the studio is now run by lawyers- so read the fine print and understand that they can drop classes and change the rules on you at anytime, but will hold you to the rules and make no exceptions. And given that membership is obviously dropping (classes are rarely more than 1/4-1/2 full, I would expect more classes to be dropped in the future.

I heard this location was good, so I woke up at 5:30am and drove down from Reston. I arrived 5 minutes late and was turned away from the class by the dismissive receptionist, Lina. Apparently you need to show up 15 minutes early for a tour of the studio and to sign a waiver? I wasn't told this in advance and would think signing a waiver takes 2 minutes... This studio was unaccommodating and wasted my time - I won't be recommending this location to my girlfriend's who wanted to try Pure Barre.

Enjoy their classes. Held at good times and you usually leave feeling like you received a low impact but good solid workout. Nice location with easy parking. I would recommend. Too bad they stopped accepting Classpass
