“Although online shopping has become even more convenient and you can probably get the same thing (if not more selection) faster online, my focus on this review is about the excellent and welcoming service I received at the Nordstrom at the Fashion Galleria. Ginger helped me pick out and try different skirts, walking around the floor. They also helped me with some last-minute tailoring as well. Be aware that parking can be tough- it can be a long walk as the lots are often full.”

“i have to say so far this has been the best bank for me. (backstory i know some of you will relate to, so this review is for you): i've hated every other bank specifically because of weird things they slip into overdraft fees. an example would be how wells fargo and then bank of america started itemizing purchases from most to least expensive, specifically to target poor people *looks in mirror, hey that's me!* who will sometimes purposely overdraft close to payday willing to eat the cost of an overdraft fee covered on payday because whatever we need is that important. one time i did this calling a taxi to get to work because i had looked at the wrong week's schedule and found out when i was already late i was supposed to work. no time to walk. that was my overdraft, which literally would pay for itself. except bank of america went back and itemized the entire cycle so it pulled $50 worth of small purchases and tagged everyone with an overdraft fee, instead of the one large calendar day overdraft. 'twas now impressed. when us bank started throwing similar shade i migrated to chase, and to be honest i didn't even know i had no overdraft fee on the account. i just knew i was done with us bank. (in case you're curios, us bank's faux pas offense was after years without issue they suddenly started not showing instant POS purchases on the online banking and then told me i needed to learn to balance a checkbook. oh noooo...) i remember chase offering overdraft protection and the fee for that and me telling them no, sometimes i overdraft on purpose and i'm fine with paying that one fee if you don't start itemizing. months later i finally overdrafted and inquired when i didn't get a fee. they looked it up and said it was probably just a one time get out of jail free perk. then i overdrafted again, and still nothing. then there was an issue where i got double charged at a store i go to very frequently, and the cashier remembered the transaction clearly and agreed with what i said happened and was in communication with the head manager because he said usually what would happen is if i call the bank, they can process the return quicker because they'll do it right away and when they get the confirmation from vendor, it's already been paid. so i got my refund and then weeks later they took it back and said i got refunded twice. i was like, oh my god, have you even looked at my statement--you can literally see the money got put in and then taken away without anything else being put in. so that made me bristle. i tried chime because my friend and i would get a bonus if i signed up through him and set up direct deposit. no overdraft fees and a spot me feature that obviously held appeal for me. said tons of locations where you won't get charged the secondary fee for pulling from another bank. this was important to me because some bills need to be paid with money order. if you ever lived in downtown LA and owned a car, you've battled with the meter maids and gotten on low income payment plans and you know what i'm talking about. the problem with chime is i went to several of their approved atms in LA and i got that secondary fee anyway. back to mainly using chase.... then i find out capital one has 360 checking. GAME CHANGER. of note, i am speaking specifically as an Angelino on this part, who lives walking distance from the capital one cafe, so i can pull straight from their own atms. no fees. first or second. mind blown. stuff that everyone can love: no overdraft fees. down side is you can't intentionally overdraft with small purchases, but plus side is if it's an autopay, it won't pay it, but it will keep trying until your deposit comes in and clears it. there was one time it happened with a larger bill where i thought another large bill had already cleared. they said they didn't pay it, but i never got notice from the bill i was paying, or late fees, because as soon as my next deposit cleared it autopaid anyway. saved me a lot of trouble. and”
