We purchased our new home from Craftmark. They were easy to work w/ and very professional. We chose one of the models they recommended for our lot, and then we chose a lot of their upgrades (expanded back of the house, deck, patio, finished attic, etc.) We are very happy w/ the quality of the construction, and have been told by tradesmen that Craftmark uses quality materials and labor. We worked w/ Dave Pastva who is very sharp and knowledgeable. Craftmark was been very responsive about punch-out items that needed correction. Having talked w/ others, it seems I had a very easy experience. I liked the fact that there were no surprises on pricing; everything was agreed to in advance, including all the changes we made (and considered) along the way.

18 years in a Craftmark home. What garbage. I am afraid if I try to sell that it will be condemned. Constant roof leaks. Insulation issues. electrical issues. plumbing issues. do not buy craftmark home.

I bought craftmark townhouse in 2020, and second year I went through Gas Leak because gas pipe was not seal professionally, and last Friday (12/22/2023) my third year owning the house, my ENTIRE house was flooded with water because water pipe on top floor wasn't seal. (I'm alone in the house)It's all because they sub contracts to other companies that are not reliable. Before I moved in, my home inspector already found many issues including no installation in roof top. Of course, they fixed it but I had to go through subcontract companies individually that built the house. My neighbors also has so many issues with their house. I can post pictures later.

I DO NOT recommend purchasing a Craftmark Home and we know from experience. They take shortcuts during the construction process, their customer service is not responsive and constantly tries to hold the owner responsible for the shortcuts and mistakes made during construction, and they use incorrect materials for outdoor spaces that were not originally called out in the plan. Disappointing experience!

I am enjoying my Craftmark home. While it was a little bit of a bumpy ride dealing with the sale representative in relation to the real estate and loan professionals I have involved I would still recommend buying a home from Craftmark.

For two years, I have loved my new, build-on-your-lot home on which I partnered with Craftmark. I can't say enough good things about my experience. They are expert, ethical, efficient, and cost-effective. Building on your own lot in Northern Virginia isn't easy. It takes a lot of permitting and site-work expertise. I did my homework and negotiated with a number of local builders. Craftmark gave me the best value along with a really well-built home. They care about doing a good job, and treating their customers right. A huge thank you to the awesome guys on the BOYL team. A job well-done.Service: Home building

We've been very pleased with Craftmark in terms of value, quality construction and the townhome. We found they were very good at tracking any customizations and options. Any issues have been minor after moving in and we've found them to be responsive in addressing. There are some items you might find - yes any builder has some builder quality decisions but in general we've found the quality quite good. One issue is Craftmark's attitude towards home inspectors. They don't seem to like them and contratually write in that they have to approve your home inspector - you can't pick anyone w/o them reviewing/approving. Then their process of receiving the home inspector report is carefully orchestrated to be AFTER you walked through and signed a pucnch list. This whole process was a bit annoying and did not feel cusotmer friendly. That said overall we're happy with the home and feel the follow-up on any real issues/defects have been handled honestly and with care so I did not deduct a star on this.Service: New construction services

Quality has gone down the drain last 5 years as well as honoring their commitment to quality work and repairs. For example AC drain pipes glued in to thin air causing leaks for 8 months until ceiling finally collapsed: could hear the water dripping behind the wall but stated that’s normal. Document and double check every square inch.

Craftsmark states they build "luxury" homes and townhomes. They charge the luxury price and use cheap products that they seriously markup. When you call to let them know there is an issue they blow you off and push it out to a contractor who has no idea what he is doing let, nor do they care if the job is done correctly. The 1 year warranty and walk through to address any issues is a joke. They want to come several months before the one year mark and then only fix half the issues at most. Steve and Ralph (contractors) is rude and lazy. They spends 10 minutes addressing one or two issues then say we will have to come back to address the rest. They drag the process out so when you actually hit the one year point they can say it's too late to fix the previously addressed issues. The response is "well you should have had this done before your 1 year anniversary ". When I said we have been asking to have this issue fixed for 12 months They become rude and dismissive. Ralph is notorious for talking down to the homeowners and never fully completing any job. Our townhouse, along with our neighbors, has windows that leak, cracks everywhere, my neighbors ceiling actually fell in. The doors do not close properly, the railings are loose, I could go in and on. Many of the issues were reported in our first walkthrough before and directly after purchase. They were not fixed at that time and we were told they wouldn't fix the problems until our 1 year inspection and walkthrough. Which is where we are now. At this time, Steve nor Ralph, will address the issues or follow through with completion. We had warped wood flooring and when Steve and Ralph "fixed" it they replaced the floor piece with a different color. When I complained Steve told me too bad, that is what he had. I called the customer service and complained. Steve, Ralph and the crew were scheduled to fix the floor, tile and remainder of the list. As I was pointing out all of the items they still had not addresses he became defensive and hostile. He said our 1 year was up and to bad he didn't get the work done and for us to do it ourself. Then we were informed the "tile guy" needed to cancel - again, the flooring guy was running behind and he had a job site he needed to get to, once again leaving work unfinished. I would NEVER recommend Craftsmark Homes to anyone. The company does not care how homeowners are treated. They continue to send Steve and Ralph to jobs that they do not complete. I know I have called to complain and so have several of my neighbors, nothing is ever addressed.

I've been selling new homes for 41 years. I've purchased many new homes myself. I must say, that you really have to give Craftmark Homes credit for offering custom options, a long laundry list of high end included features, Energy Star CERTIFIED homes and last but not least, they have award winning floorplans. Builders in the market place just don't do these things. Base on all of this-I'm getting my very own Craftmark Home!

We are purchasing a beautiful elevator townhome at Liberty. Lori and her Craftmark team have provided exceptional service every step of the way. The range of options available, from the infrastructure, to the IT backbone, to the quality finishes is amazing. These spectacular homes are sleek, elegant, and forward looking. They have brought vitality to this historically relevant site, and the views are amazing.

Preserve at Westfield. My wife and I were so happy to be moving in to our new home. We carefully selected all the finishes we wanted , custom changes and eagerly waited to move in. The process from the start was pleasant and comfortable. That's where the quality ended. Pre walk through we discovered the tile contractors they used had no idea what level or straight line meant. Actually I don't think anyone hired to build the house owned a level. The floor on the main living level was as level as ripples on a lake. They had to cut up a 4 foot by 10 foot section of the floor to level the joists. Then it took their flooring contractor two times to get the hardwood floor somewhat passable. This started in August 2019 and took 4 months and it's still not what was represented in the model. 3x13 foot island quartz countertop had a poorly joined seam. Sent out a contractor to "polish" the seam and now we have 3 foot by 8 inch area that looks unbelievably dull and far worse then the original installation. Just "fixed" the hardwood steps that were cracked today. Stain job looks like a child finger painting. Craftmark does not equal quality.Update 10/28/2020Craftmark had the sub contractor replace my 3x13 island quartz counter top today. Now the entire counter is dull and in no way matches the other original surfaces in the kitchen as far as shine. When I inspected the job I also found a wood splitter in the finish. The installers removed the wood material from the quartz and filled. That spot is duller than the rest of the surface. They didn't pre drill the faucet hole so now the house is covered in quartz dust.Update 5/9/2021I'm compelled to update once more for all fairness. Months ago Craftmark had the sub contractor replace the Island Counter again. This time it finally got to the acceptable level. Craftmark has truly stepped up to make things right but I would reccomend to them to get a new counter top contractor. Further to Craftmark's credit they repaired a leak in one of the first buildings constructed due to a contractors faulty installation. This was outside of the warranty and charged our neighbor nothing. For this reason I set my review to 3 stars from one.

Would never build a home with them again. They make everything more difficult than it needs to be. Make you feel like they are doing you a favor to go look in your home they are building. Poor customer service
