We just drove 1.5 hours to come to this shop only to find they are closed! According to Google, it says they were open.
Nope they are closed Monday -Thursday! Someone needs to do a better job!!

This place was fantastic. We paid $25 for ski rental instead of $85 at the resort. It's very cramped compared to other places we have been for rentals, but they handled everything pretty efficiently and the skis we got were fine. You do have to wait outside a few minutes for them to get the rentals together. They also waxed our board and did a good job.

I made the mistake and bought my equipment NOT from this store. They have a huuuuge selection and the staff know everything you need to know(I'm a beginner). We also made the mistake to rent from the resort the first night because we didn't research local rentals. The second night we all rented from Powder Shack and it was better equipment and much cheaper.

Ask to see the equipment before you pay for the rental! Very old and worn out equipment. Major grooves on the bottom of the skis with zero signs of any wax. Daughters boots were falling apart on the inside. Lack of padding on one side cause major irritation of her ancle. Inside the store is majorly cramped because they they so overstocked.

I would be careful of the safety of your family. The gear at this place is run down and barely maintained. Not only did we get a beer soaked pole, but i got a boot that was falling apart. The workers didn't seem to care even a bit. I wouldn't rant from here. Go to the mountain before you or your family gets hurt.

Don't go here for your rentals. You are better off paying more for better rentals and more respectable workers and management. Boots are falling apart. Per them ski boots are meant to to be bare inside. The disintegrating padding would say otherwise. Read how they respond to other 1 star reviews to understand who these people actually are. Go else where.

Honestly one of the best winter sports places you can go to where they will have everything you need. I have rented equipment from them and bought equipment they take there time to fit you with the proper equipment and don't just make you buy. We travel all over the country and come across alot of winter sports ski/snowboard shops and they just rush you and don't even know what you bought. Not at the POWDER SHACK they treat you like family. We have been going to the Powder Shack for over 10yrs and they never disappoint. Thank you again my daughter Desiree loves her new snowboard bindings they are great her control is on point will see you soon next time we are in the area. Would of posted pictures but Google doesn't allow it.

Great place to rent all your equipment to visit Massanutten. The crew here are all so nice helpful and knowledgeable about getting the right gear for everyone. Awesome customer service

After almost a decade of going to the Powder Shack, I can tell you this is a GREAT place for rentals and any outfitting for skiing/snow boarding. The owner is awesome and her team puts customer service as a priority for everyone. I highly recommend this for your winter sports needs.Thanks for another wonderful ski experience, Carla...lol

Employees were polite and very helpful, giving tips on what fits your style of riding. A man named Kane helped find the perfect boots for me, comparing prices, performance, color, and style to help me decide. Definitely recommend going here if you’d like help in choosing what fits you best.
