I'll keep it short, got the FogHat Torch set as a gift last Christmas. Did not have an immediate need for it. Pulled it out this week because we're hosting an event, and sure enough after doing every troubleshooting step there is something wrong with the gas flow. Contacted the company asking for advice on how to get it working, they skipped advice and went to "nothing we can do, buy another one, they're cheap". You are not kidding they're cheap. You can feel it in the material. No way I would but another one after this response. Get an Iwatani, Bernzomatic, or Messermeister.

I ordered a 1L barrel from this company. I seasoned it exactly as the instruction said by adding hot water inside. The next morning I got up and one of the bands were busted. I would like to get this replaced.

I had a very bad experience with this company as I ordered a smoker kit online and received a very low quality product from them. The cloche was low quality and the smoker didn’t fit in the cloche. I contacted the company and they said they will send another one. Next cloche delivery was as bad as the first one. When I told the company that this kit was a gift for a special friend, they told me you should check the product first before gifting!!!! That was their solution!!!! So disappointed from the product and also poor customer service.

Placed an order for my husband the week prior to Christmas. Purchased the fog hat, the cloche, the torch, and additional smoke chips. The package came without the fog hat. I reached out to customer service via emails and phone calls hoping to be able to get the rest of my order before Christmas. I was treated very poorly, which was unexpected for a small company who hand makes specialty products. Not only was I unable to get the rest of my order in time. I had to take pictures proving I didn’t receive the product, return the remaining products, and still pay $28 dollars in shipping costs. Their return policy does state that they do not pay for shipping, but I would think since they forgot the actual mechanism they would make an exception. Very disappointed in my overall experience for what I thought would be a wonderful gift.

The product looks great. But there's very little flow from the tap. I called to confirm an order of the disinfecting tablets. The lady, with whom I spoke, was not at all friendly and acted inconvenienced by my call.Just upgraded this review to four stars. The person who responded to my email was great and explained to me how to dry out my barrel so that I could remove my spigot and clean it. She even offered a replacement spigot, if need be. Even though the first person at the company was not helpful, this person was great. Plus, I have good flow through the spigot.

I purchased a 1L Kentucky Bourbon whiskey kit for my husband for our wedding anniversary and it exceeded my expectations! I’m a horrible gift giver so when I saw these barrels I knew my whiskey-loving guy would think it was as awesome as I did. It was so easy to order and I all I did put in the comments that I wanted engraving on the barrel and they did everything flawlessly. I was nervous buying from a company I wasn’t familiar with, but they clearly do a great job and I’m so happy I got this for him. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a fun and unique gift!!

I ordered a 1L whiskey barrel as a gift. I'm somewhat local and was operating somewhat last minute, so I was hoping to be able to pick it up in person rather than having it shipped. Although that option was not totally clear on the website, I emailed them and got a quick response letting me know that was no problem. I placed my order over the phone and Sara was incredibly helpful walking through all of the options with me and making sure the personalization was correct. When I picked the barrel up, it looked perfect, and the quality was immediately apparent. It also smelled heavenly. I have a feeling I'll be getting another one for myself sometime soon.

I bought a barrell and the spigot leaked from day one. I was able to go to the office with cash in hand replacing the one I had. After talking to the gentleman explaining what happened to the current one he gave me another at no charge. I'm sure that's not practice but it left me no reservation on purchasing again from this company. Nor will I have reservation on referring this company to anyone looking for their products. I didn't catch his name but thank you very much for your help.Skinner

Don't waste your time trying to purchase a custom barrel from these folks! you will just be told that the artwork you send isn't a high enough resolution to reproduce. I asked if could pay to have their art department generate a quality image from my artwork. they just suggested I buy something they already had available. So much for advertising CUSTOM BARRELS. Total waste of time. So just be prepared to buy what they sell or shop somewhere else.

Besides the product(s) from this company being awesome... The Customer Service blew my mind. Short Story: I ordered two Personalized products (small Batch 1-gallon barrels) for my close friends as gifts - When they arrived, the personalized was blurry and couldn't be read very well. Not being the complaining "Fix my order NOW" type of guy myself, I sent them an email just letting know it was disappointing, and I hoped they would pay more attention with other customers. Fast forward two days, later - and a box arrives with two PERFECT versions of the barrels I had ordered. No questions, no issues, no proof required or hoops for me to loop through for weeks (Keep in mind - this is T-Minus 5 days before X-mas). Suffice to say - a) I'll be buying great gifts from Thousand Oaks Barrel Co. for as long as they make them and b) Stephanie, whoever you are, I love you (in a non-creepy way) and you literally made my Christmas... and I can't wait for your product to make my friend's Christmases as well. :) Thank you.
