The teachers and directors at the Merit School of Wellington are amazing. We couldn’t be happier with our choice in this school. My husband and I have crazy schedules, and the teachers and the directors have been so helpful and accommodating with our schedule in order to get our daughter the daycare that she needs. I was so uncomfortable with the idea of leaving my child with anybody else besides my parents, but the staff at the Merit School of Wellington, immediately put my mind and my heart at ease. They have become my daughter’s second family. My husband and I can’t say enough good things about this school!!

Both my kiddos have gone to Merit at Wellington, my youngest is currently enrolled. My family has had nothing but good experiences with the staff and facilities. The building is clean and well-maintained. The staff are caring, professional, and friendly--they've taken such great care of my kids (both have become very attached to their teachers in each program they attend). My kids have also learned a lot; the program curriculums Merit follows definitely prepared my son for kindergarten. Also, Merit did stay open during the pandemic (which I was thankful for--I needed them) and I felt that they did an amazing job trying to take every precaution, always staying on top of CDC and VA DOH guidance, and keeping everyone as safe as they possibly could. That's a tough and scary job, and their compassion and transparency should be acknowledged.

Our oldest has attended Wellington since 2015. It was a no brainer that our youngest would attend as well. The location is convenient and the staff has become like a second family to our kids!

After working at Minnieland Wellington for three years as a young adult, I knew it would be the only place my future children would go - and here we are. Even though I moved on and it's been seven years since I've worked at Minnieland, most of the lead teachers I worked with are still there, which is incredible considering the job turn-over rate in the DC area. They truly love their jobs and are the best around. My son is now in the infant room and I get daily updates on his activity, food consumption and nap times. I feel at ease knowing he's in great hands and is loved by the staff. Director Stacy Hancock is amazing and makes every part of the process easy. Can't say enough about Minnieland!

The administrative staff are knowledgeable, accessible and helpful. The direct care staff are not always friendly. I would say about 50% of them speak when I would drop my child off. My child consistently cried upon drop off which was strange because this is not their first daycare experience and I never had that behavior demonstrated before. The facility always smelled like a dirty diaper. The rates are comparable to the area and probably run on slightly on the lower end of the scale. I only used them for about 5 months because they were extremely convenient and my child had the best teacher in the facility before he/she was transferred to another class. I would probably never re-enroll my child here.

My experience wasnt great at Wellington minnieland. No body was ever at the front desk during the busier hours when parents are dropping or picking up. For the director stacy it was almost like me and my child are non existent. My kid went home almost everyday with an accident or marks or scratches and when asked teachers didnt know what happened. Communication sucked. One teacher would say he had a excellend day and once i will turn around the other teacher will say he had a bad day which made me feel like they didnt really care about the kids and told the parents whatever to satisfy them. However i would not recommend this location for your child.

We have been so happy with our experience here. We feel like a part of a big community family. Compared to another local center that my oldest attended, this center and their staff is a notch above the rest in every way.

My son rarely talked and did not want to be potty trained. He started attending Minnieland at 3 and they started potty training same day and it worked magic. He started talking and being potty trained. Now at age 5 he still attends and they always have fun activities even parents night out occasionally. The teachers are all nice and will be informative to the parents about the needs of their children. Love them!!!!
