Today around 5:00 PM, I had the worst shopping experience I’ve ever had at the Lidl on Liberia Avenue, Manassas.
The store has a serious staffing problem. There are not enough cashiers, and the self-checkout area had no employee supervising it. On top of that, the self-checkout machines are awful—slow, confusing, and constantly malfunctioning. Easily the worst self-checkout system I’ve ever seen.
Another ongoing issue is the coolers. They are always extremely noisy, making loud, constant mechanical sounds that are distracting and unpleasant while shopping. It feels like the equipment is poorly maintained.
The store was also very dirty, both inside and outside. The floors looked neglected and filthy, giving the place a slum-like feel, not a grocery store that meets basic cleanliness standards.
I couldn’t even find a whole chicken, which is a basic grocery item. On top of that, the prices are surprisingly high, especially compared to Walmart and ALDI, which are cleaner, quieter, cheaper, and far better managed.
The whole store feels like it’s being run by two people total, with no visible management and no real customer service.
This location needs serious management changes, better staffing, proper cleaning, quieter/maintained equipment, and functional checkout systems.

I love to shop here! I feel like I'm always saving some coins when I shop here compared to other grocery stores, especially Harris Teeter's expensive sales! Additionally, the coupons that we get for shopping here are amazing; I just saved $15 today just by clipping coupons in the app! We will continue to come back just like that cyber truck continues to come back. If you know, you know!

This is my go to store. However, these past few weeks they have only had self check out available. Please bring back your register. We all hate self check out. Thank you. Besides that, I love Lidl.

How you can scan 300-400 item in small self checkout!!!!
Had to put my grocery of the floor after scanning
Just hire couple guys no need for this greed hire and help your city!
Been buying form them since day one not Goimg anymore
In modern places like dubai Japan China they even put the groceries in the car you guys don’t even give Bags

Used to go here religiously and tell everyone what a great store it was. It's going downhill fast in the past few months. Trash everywhere, meat juice leaking out in the meat shelves, and for some insane reason they keep reorganizing the store every few weeks so that it is increasingly annoying to find anything. I would still go despite that for the prices, but the icing on the cake is that they are now manning NONE of the checkout counters, and are forcing everyone to go through self checkout. I asked an employee about this and they said it is self checkout only from 10am-6pm...so the entire day in other words. Self checkout may be fine for people with small numbers of items, but if you are actually doing your weekly shopping there it is absolutely insane given the lack of space and the way self checkout problems multiply the more items you have. Is management's plan really to just incentivize people to buy less? There are alternative stores out there. I'll just be going there from now on.

Lidl used to be a great grocery store but it is now disorganized, dirty, and pricey... The Manassas location looks pretty bad with garbage all over the parking lot and overflowing garbage cans at the entrance of the store. There have also got rid of some of the cashiers and often time, their self service checkout machines are out of order. I shopped there often because of their products from Europe and i loved their pastries... . The cashiers who still work at Lidl are always very nice and courteous. It's unfortunate there are very few working there!! Hopefully someone from Management will see my comment and improve that location.

I recently visited this Lidl store and had a generally positive shopping experience. The store was clean, tidy, and well-organized, making it easy to navigate through the aisles. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of products available, especially in the fresh produce section. The fruits and vegetables were fresh and of high quality, and the bakery section had an enticing selection of freshly baked bread and pastries. I also found that the store had a great selection of both branded and private-label items, offering a range of choices depending on your preference or budget.
One of the standout features of Lidl is the pricing. The store is incredibly budget-friendly, and you can find great deals on everyday essentials. It's a place where you can easily stock up on pantry staples, dairy, meat, and frozen foods without breaking the bank. The discounts and promotions they offer are also a big plus, and I found myself saving more than I anticipated.
However, there were a couple of minor downsides. The aisles can feel a bit narrow, especially when the store is busy, which makes it harder to move around comfortably. Additionally, the store layout can be a little confusing if you're not familiar with the location, as the arrangement isn't always intuitive. That said, the staff were friendly and helpful, and they made the shopping experience more pleasant.
Overall, Lidl is a good choice for budget-conscious shoppers looking for quality products at great prices. I'll definitely be returning in the future!
