We just removed my daughter from this school after 3 years. Unfortunately I watched this school rapidly decline. When she first began attending they were great (she was 9 weeks old). They had long term staff, the director was wonderful. I loved the camera system and updates through the app. The teachers really seemed to care about each child in their care. The director left for another location and they replaced her with a woman named Liz who was absolutely terrible. Within a year ALL of the long term staff was gone. There were multiple incidents in my daughters classroom of very aggressive teachers who were putting 14 month olds in the corner for 10+ minutes, expecting toddlers to stay seated at a lunch table for ridiculous amounts of time waiting for their food (and if they got up they went into the corner), if they spilled there food/drink they were not offered anymore! Our daughter was very close to the teachers assistant in her toddler room and after the aggressive teacher was moved out (After we escalated a very serious incident) she became the lead teacher. The only reason my daughter stayed in that school was because of her connection to this teacher and how sincere and genuine this teacher was. When my daughter was transitioned from toddlers to the twos room it was a complete mess. They basically only moved her when they had staffing issues. None of her blankets, water bottle, binky, etc. was moved with her. You could visibly tell she was afraid on the cameras at nap time in twos room. No communication to us that this was happening (we found out by watching the cameras) and the staff that was in the two's room was all fill in staff no actual teacher which meant my daughter had a new face everyday she was in there. Keep in mind the teacher to student ratio is higher in the twos room so when they didn't have enough staff in the toddler room they would just move toddlers to the twos room to get around the state regulations (not because the child's best interests were being considered). She went from loving going to school to see Ms. Ciana to sobbing in the car that she did not want to go. I got involved with the director who refused to take any responsibility for anything. It got escalated to the GM who basically agreed to move my daughters teacher to the two's room permanently so my daughter could transition. This is the only reason why my daughter continued after this second incident. The directer refused to train her staff. You never saw her in class rooms. All of the teachers hated her and vocalized that regularly to parents. I even informed the GM of this who told me she was a "great director". They would do odd things like move a regular teacher of a class room to fill in at another school and then bring in a temp at our school. Made no sense so instead of one classroom having to deal with a stranger - two classrooms did. One of their regular staff Erica who was a teacher and then kind of moved into admin walks around in her socks and slides all day. You often see her with her shoes off. Kids were not allowed to wear opened toed shoes but a teacher can? There really was no general standard for some of the teachers who literally looked like they just rolled out of bed. Liz did leave maybe 6 months ago and she was replaced by a new director who is nice and who does seem to be more involved with the classrooms. Unfortunately the damage that was done by Liz with the staffing I do not believe can be overcome quickly. My daughters beloved teacher decided to move back to her home state and my daughter was turning 3 anyway (and there was no 3 teacher) so we made the move to a new facility. To say it is a night and day difference is an understatement. I have felt immense guilt for not switching her school sooner now that i see how much she was being held back by this environment. Luckily my daughters best friend came with her to the new school. They have advanced so much in the month they have been at the new school it is almost unbelievable. Choose wisely, go with your gut!

This school seemed racist and care more about their profit than care for their students. Their teacher to student ratio is not 1:5 and seemed that they put way too much stress on their staff. I liked my child's caregiver but unfortunately my child got injured there. Instead of trying to cooperate with us during stressful and scary situations, the director instead putting us down by blaming my 16 months old toddler. The fact that they have the audacity to blame a baby versus taking an actions on their behalf. They're also not medically trained as my child busted his bottom lip open due to falling down, they didn't use proper sanitized equipment on the open wound therefore my child got a very bad infection and had to go to hospital for it. Never putting my children there again. I

Comparing rates, they are decent. But there is a high turn around rate with employees and they are not good with communication. Stability is important for a child and that starts with the teachers. Looking at other reviews, I don't recognize the names of any of the staff mentioned (not even the person who responded as an employee of La Petite) and we've been there for almost two years. Our child has been in three classrooms since starting and none of the lead teachers are still there, including his current teacher who left weeks ago (with no one replacing her yet). Many of the employees (who are usually great) often complain about working conditions only to leave shortly after starting. Those who were there for years also complain (in one case, decades), have left as well. This place has potential (and appears to once be great) but it is no where near where it was before.

We send our infant here and love it. They have live-stream cameras in the room so you can check in at any time to see what your child is up to. I know the teachers are taking great care of my baby because I see it live, and I see how happy he is to go into their arms.

We chose La Petite over similar options in the area for the flex care program, the smaller class sizes and caring staff. Everyone is kind, professional and attentive. I’ve logged in to the closed captioned cameras and saw them helping my daughter fall asleep during nap time for over an hour, patting her back and not leaving her side! Very impressive care. I appreciate how gentle and caring they were getting my 2 year old through the transition of starting day care. They send a lot of photos and updates through Brightwheel as well which puts my mind at ease. Thanks everyone!

Our daughter has been attending the academy for almost 2 years now and she loves it and so do we. The price per week is reasonable, it’s close to home, the entire staff is amazing, it’s clean, and so much more!! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great school/academy for their children.

Ms. Nancy and her team are absolutely wonderful. They care deeply about their students, are easy to work with, and have a variety of activities for the children to enjoy. They really go above and beyond in their interactions with the kids as well as the parents. We have had nothing but the best experiences here. Highly recommended!

After looking at a few area day care facilities, we selected La Petite on Dumfries Rd for our 3 grandchildren after obtaining custody of them in January of 2010. We could not have made a better choice. Most of the staff has been there for 15+ years, some for over 20 years. They are professional, friendly, and most of all they really care about the kids as if they were their own.In addition to a traditional daycare, they keep the kids busy with all sorts of field trips and extra activities, especially during the summer programs that are offered. We really couldnt be happier with La Petite and their staff. I HIGHLY recommend them!!! You wont be sorry!
