so, between the end of June and July 1st, i used a Hertz rental due to being in a car accident whilst 14 weeks pregnant at the fault of another. Hertz Manassas Airport is the rental company the other party's insurance provided. at first, i was met with a very nice lady who gave me the keys to the rental. all was good. this car had to be renewed once as per my car still being in the body shop, so i had this car approximately 2 weeks.
i used this car to get back and forth to work, nothing else. never even went to a drive through in the rental vehicle, i was told to return it clean. i returned the car on on the 1st of July, and have an email where they confirmed the rental car for a third week until july 11th. after i'd dropped the rental off. this car sat in a body shop parking lot until at least the weekend after 4th of July, as per employee witnesses of the body shop i was advised to drop the car off at. they didn't come for the car for about a week, AND renewed it after confirmation of me dropping it off.
they then have now proceeded to charge me for $400 on conveniently July 11th, saying it was from having to clean the car and that we'd left food containers in the car, as well as had an animal in the car? which never happened. i have pictures of the car clean, and they still refuse to refund me my $400. they obviously prey on people and hope they don't catch on. customer service has not helped at all. i wish i could give minus stars.

Hours of operation were updated 2 weeks ago, but this location is NOT open Saturdays and Sundays.. was told this location is not fully-staffed so they are not open. I am confused however, why this was updated incorrectly on their Google profile page.

Zero Star, this place is not give the customers enough options to make any type of payment. All payments must be made with a debit or credit card. The card has to be under the name of the person who’s gonna be driving the rental you cannot pay in cash or use Apple Pay you cannot use, somebody else’s card . Their signs say they’re open 24//7 it is false. They close really damn early. They also don’t have no type of online service so you to make any payments Keep an eye on your account activity because they will make additional transactions causing your card to get blocked for suspicious activity having to wait a week until the new card comes & once again you’re not allowed to pay with cash or somebody else’s card or Apple Pay. Office is in need of urgent paint remodel, cleaning and they need a whole new software and front desk. Tell your car insurance to stay away from Hertz rental as well as for you.
Attention Herts I’ve dropped of the keys in your drop box on 5/2/2024 at 8:03pm I’ve taken pictures and videos of the White Trailblazer ( RR - H32551444) oh and you can keep the $50.00 deposit you guys need it. I’ve also added an air freshener for you.
I want a manager, owner or CEO to call me to address some concerns and payments and not the office Puppet.
Enjoy your next lunch meal on me, from my $50.00 deposit oh don’t choke.

The employees here were very nice, but the car I rented is a wreck. There is a horrible noise coming from the rear tires and the wipers are just shredded rubber.
I called Hertz and their only solution was for me to exchange the vehicle at Dulles Airport.
Thanks, but I’m not driving two hours because the wreck you rented me needs repairs. I just won’t rent here again.

Hertz provides a good service that is very close to my residence which makes it very convenient. Hertz service team members provided a great experience and I am sure I will be using them in the future for any car rental needs, thanks.

This location has horrible customer service, the manager Stephen was not helpful at all. Being the branch manager he had aa horrible attitude the minute we walked thru that door. Upon making reservation we show up and no one was there. If i could give negative stars I would.

I left my dead apple watch in a rental almost over three weeks ago. I travel a lot for work and it was saying it was last seen at my home in Florida. I wasn't sure where I left it, so I never called Hertz. Somebody finally turned it on and it pingged VA, which is how I knew I had left it in a rental car in VA. I called and spent 20 minutes on the phone with Abrianna while she looked up the exact vehicle I had and called the current rentee's. She located my watch, and called me back several hours later to let me know she had retrieved my watch and needed my mailing location. I have never had better customer service, especially with an expensive lost item. When you get a "i'll call you with what we find," there is very rarely a call back regardless of the news. I am very thankful for her customer service.Beyond that, I needed to drop my car off here when it was not the original intended drop off location, they welcomed me and changed the reservation with swiftness and convenience.Thank you !!!!

The gentleman behind the counter was awesome to work with. I came in just before closing only minutes after making my reservation as I got stranded. He still helped me out and even though he was short on the cars they had available, he made sure to get me in a great car and on my way. He was super helpful in answering my questions.This was a much better experience than I had trying to rent from other locations.

Horrible ExperienceI made a compact car reservation 10 days in advance for a 1 week rental to travel from Manassas, VA to California, one-way. I got a family member to take off work for awhile to take me to the Hertz facility in Manassas, VA on the morning of the pickup 1 hour early. I asked the two ladies working at the desk if I was too early, they said no, but we have no cars. They confirmed I had a car reservation for a 10am pickup, then said there is practically zero chance of having a car by noon or even today. They suggested I try a larger airport, they might have some cars to rent, Manassas they said, is #4 on the list for cars. I asked if they could call one of their associate Hertz facilities to confirm a car so I don't have to travel many, many miles to see if there are cars available. They said no, they don't have phone numbers of the other agencies. Very bad. I went back to my car totally frustrated together with my wife and granddaughter that were ready and packed for the trip, with no idea what to do next. I looked up Hertz Dulles Airport, called the number several times, no answer. I then drove 1 hr to Dulles during rush hour traffic. Talked to the staff there, told them my story, gave them my reservation number, they didn't care because it was for another location. Long story short, they reluctantly found me a car for the one-way trip, but was a full size ($$$), and since I was essentially a same-day walk-in, price was higher than with a reservation. I ended up paying 2 1/2 times my original price, but did manage to desperately rent a car and save forfeiting my paid reservations at a tour attraction and motel. I don't know if this lack of customer service is due to the pandemic or they're just overloaded, but Hertz will be last on my list for the next rental.
