My daughter went here for about two years. We would take summers off and have her attend during the school year since I am a teacher and don't need the summer care. While my daughter went there from the ages of 2-3 my family thoroughly enjoyed it. When we went back for the following fall semester it seemed as if the daycare had completely changed. The first issue we had was that my daughter was never fed enough, she would come home hungry everyday. We had to start bringing snacks during pick up, because she would come home starved. Originally they would give the kids a hot breakfast such as waffles, pancakes, etc. When we went back after the summer break the kids we're no longer receiving full breakfast meals. They would receive overly ripe bananas, dry cereal in a Dixie cup, or give the kids toast. I often saw the kids receiving the butts of toast that no one typically eats. When I brought it to the attention of the director, Doreen, I was blatantly lied to and was told they never received a hot breakfast. Every morning from then on I would have to either feed my child early or pack her breakfast. My fiancé remembers bringing lunch for my daughter on her birthday and having to fend off the other kids, because they too were hungry and did not want the gross slimey bananas that were obviously saved from breakfast. Another issue I had was with the lack professionalism of the employees and the lack of training and education they had. The teacher in my daughters classroom lacked boundaries and was constantly asking me for things. This teacher started to text me off my personal number and then went as far as to message me on my social media when she would not receive an answer. She would constantly ask me for my daughters old clothes, demand that I make her daughter items for free from my business, and even went as far as to remind me to get her a gift for teacher appreciation week. She would go out of her way to tell me all about the issues she was having with the daycare as an employee and a parent since her daughter also attended the daycare. She had told me that the daycare stole wipes from her and even sent me the daycare's violations (I NEVER asked for these). Then asked if I could go call and make a complaint to give them another violation. This is not what ANY parent wants to hear. I eventually had to block her to stop the persistent calls, text, and DM's. Nothing was ever printed correctly and looked like it was photo copied by a child. Half of the employees were illiterate and 90% dressed as if they had just rolled out of bed. The daily notes given to me were never legible. At one point I was sent home a printed Mother's Day card given to me by my daughters teacher and she couldn't spell "Wonderful" or "Person" correctly. To reiterate this was made by an adult and not a child. This is also shown on the daycares Facebook page as daily photos have captions that are using incorrect grammar usage. This is concerning considering these adults were teaching my child about letters, letter sounds, etc. My child was also placed in a class that was far below her age and learning level. She was being placed in classes with two year olds who still were wearing diapers, and barely spoke when she was four years old. I also brought this to the attention of the director and was told that she didn't have enough employees to put my daughter into the proper placement. Once she got moved over I then found out that during the day my daughter was being placed in the younger class when there wasn't enough employees. Then when I would come in they would quickly switch her back. Not sure how long this was happening because my daughter confirmed it had happened often before I caught them doing it. Nap time was also an issue as my daughter complained daily of teachers putting blankets over her face. I specifically told the daycare that my child does not nap and that I would send books for her to quietly look at during that time. They never let her have the books and instead would plac

My daughter was in another daycare when we moved to Manassas and checked out the daycares closer to us. We immediately loved Carousel’s. Ms crystal is the best with the kids and my daughter loves her. Since she’s been attending daycare here she has learned a lot but she learns everything in a fun way that keeps her attention. She even is naming colors in Spanish. 3 years old and knows all her letters and colors in both English and Spanish! The staff are always nice and welcoming. All around a good daycare with great people. Updated 2020: We’ve since moved from the area and my daughter is in kindergarten now. She remembers Carousel and always asks to go visit. She has such good memories thanks to the staff here and we miss them so much!! They played a big part in my daughters upbringing and I give them all the credit they deserve! She is doing amazing in kindergarten and it’s all due to Ms Crystal and the other staff teaching these kids and caring about them with all their heart! I just wanted to give an update because we miss Carousel so much and there will never be another daycare like here!! If I’m ever crazy enough to have another child, and the staff is still just as amazing as they were years ago, I would travel from Woodbridge to Manassas just to bring my kiddo here :(
