this dealership used to be an excellent resource for everything from oil changes to major repairs. We've been loyal customers for years, but unfortunately our experience over the last 18 months has been universally poor. The problem is that key people have left Safford Brown Subaru, and now there are no adults left who communicate with each other. Recently we attempted on two occasions to bring our Forrester in for service and were told one thing by seemingly helpful people on the phone but endured an entirely different reality when we arrived. In both cases, Safford Brown was unable to offer even basic services. And in both cases we were treated to rambilng monologues about how no one inside the organization communicates with each other. Consider the value of your time when you are looking at past reviews in our experience, they were well earned but are no longer valid. Especially do not consider anything Iris tells you over the phone as accurate. I don't think she's intentionally a liar, but she seems inexperienced and does not associate telling people what they hope to hear with action on her part to make those things come true. She's a pleaser with no follow through and will waste your time. The service department is not much better. My wife was treated to a five minute mansplain about how sorry everyone was for failing to provide good service, and that they would treat her like a human being instead of a customer who just "walked in the door". She was promised reschedules and callbacks. None of that happened. It is clear that the employees know they are not doing a good job and we do feel sorry for them. I hope that Safford Brown uses 2024 to rebuild and get their house in order, but for the first time in nearly a decade, we will be going somewhere else.

I bought a new forester from James Suthard and the experience was flawless !! I went to all the competition prior to meeting with James and it was not even comparable! Save yourself some time and hassle and go see him ! Being I was in the car business and being extremely picky, I can be a tough sell! I know good people when I see them !!

Long sad story. Took 5 phone calls to speak to a human to sort out what was happening with my vehicle in service. They did waive charges without my having to ask, but still very disappointed.

Quick friendly service on my last inspection and oil change. I was dropping off for a morning appt. They were able to get me in that afternoon turn around about an hour.

We purchased two new Subaru's this weekend from two different Subaru dealerships. I'll have to be honest and say that Safford Brown Subaru beat Sheehy in Frederickburg by a long shot. I feel the folks at Safford really took great care of us and offered the best deal from the start. One thing I've learned this weekend is that if a dealership keeps saying they are honest and transparent, they most certainly are not. If they don't try and convince you they are honest, more than likely, they are more honest. I'm very grateful for our salesman "Bee" and the financing gentlemen, Patrick. They both are truly amazing individuals. Overall, it was a GREAT experience here. I'll also add just about everyone in that building has a shining personality. I'm a little sad I didn't buy my first purchase from them as I feel I would have gotten a way better deal and felt more confident and happy with my purchase. My advice: No need to waste time and gas....just go straight to Safford and get the best deal here!

Update: I emailed my original finance guy, Ayham, this morning about what was going on, after not having heard back from anyone else about it. Ayham responded near immediately and made sure to get my email to the right person. A short while later, Susan (I believe she's the bookkeeper) emailed me to let me know she'd be issuing a check for the difference, and putting it in the mail asap. I *should* have contacted Ayham first a few weeks ago, because he got this taken care for me VERY quickly. Patrick, a manager at Browns, called this afternoon to offer his apologies and let me know if I needed anything else to give him a call (and he did this while traveling, which shows great customer service!!).I'm not particularly happy I had to chase down my missing money myself, and I'm not happy about the amount of time it took, but, it was resolved today, and the people who made it happen (Ayham and Susan) are superstars for their quick response!!So, pro-tip - if you have an automatic payment on any trade-in, LET THE DEALERSHIP KNOW and CANCEL IT ASAP so you can avoid any headaches.

I had a really great experience purchasing my new 2023 Subaru WRX from Safford Brown Subaru Manassas. Chris was my salesman and he was super knowledgeable and very passionate about the Subaru brand. They gave me a great offer on my trade in and we're extremely transparent during the entire buying process. Chris was able to give me my out the door price via text the day before I came to the dealership and to my surprise when I showed up the next day the numbers were exactly the same. They never tried to pressure me into adding expensive extras or extended warranties and sold me my new car at a great price well below MSRP.
