My regular vet needed a high resolution ultrasound for my dog right away. He was very sick and the xrays just didn't show enough to give a definitive diagnosis. They called around and VRCC spoke to my vet and assured them that they had the right machine and would do the exam. Except they didn't. They have the machine, but they don't have the internist to do the scan. There is an internist there, but he doesn't work for them and has his own schedule. They kept stringing me along all day with my desperately sick puppy. Charged me $1300 and didn't do anything that my regular vet had already done. They took new blood tests, and wouldn't even tell me what they said. Horrible. This place is only about separating you from your money.

Called last night because I needed an emergency supply of seizure medication for my dog, due to Chewy’s request being denied by location. I understand policies, but the fact lady on the phone stated “Well go to your primary vet” in the rudest manner doesn’t sit well with me. Not saying all the people there have an attitude, but a good amount of people working there aren’t too friendly.

I can’t begin to express the gratitude I have for the help they gave me today after finding a cat who had been hit by a car. They helped guide me through the traumatic event. Dr Abernathy and her team really care and that shows through their services.

Last night my senior cat, Sophie, had problems breathing that lead to further issues, and eventually to her passing. The doctors and nurses were so helpful, gentle, caring, and understanding. Such a wonderful place with wonderful people.

Dr. Van Beek did an amazing job helping us get through a tough situation with our English Bulldog. Rest of the staff was very supportive, thoughtful, and kind.

Cannot say enough great things about VRCC. Our dog had been sick for over a week and originally treated for what we thought was a snake bite…when she wasn’t improving we were referred to VRCC where Dr. Abernathy took a much more wholistic approach and communicated well with us throughout the whole process. Turns out our dog was riddled with tumors and we had to put her down…the vet tech Jamie gave our dog all the love until we could get there the next day to say goodbye. Everyone was so kind and gentle and supportive throughout the whole process. I would recommend VRCC for any critical care or specialty needs you have for your pet.

We had a unique circumstance on Labor Day. After several calls to animal clinics and hospitals in the surrounding areas, I was calmed to hear the nice girl over the phone at this hospital say they could help. I will always be grateful. From the time I walked in, the staff and nurses were very sensitive and caring to my dog and me, which put me further at ease. I appreciate all and Dr. Van Bleek’s kindnesses to the end. A heartfelt thank-you from Piper’s mom&dad.

This place is outstanding! We were traveling when our almost 15 year old golden retriever became very ill. We arrived here at 6 am and the staff was very professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Ozzy was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia and megaesophagus and received extraordinary care from Dr. Abernethy. We thought we were going to lose him, but 48 hours later we were picking up with a very detailed treatment plan. Dr. Abernethy communicated with us during those two days and we felt Ozzy was in the best place he could be. They even allowed us to visit him. Ozzy has fully recovered and we cannot thank all the staff enough for the expert care he received. 100% recommend.

Just rude people there! Don't worry, I'll be taking my pets elsewhere. If they treat humans this way, imagine leaving your pet with them!

Called to inquire about possible side effects from my dog's bordatella vaccine earlier in the day at my vet's office. Receptionist named Charina asked about my senior dog's medical history. She questioned the treatment my regular vet has my dog on for other medical issues. She was hostile, raised her voice, and gave incorrect medical information. She basically was playing doctor on the phone instead of answering a simple question. I don't feel comfortable taking my dog there after that conversation.

I truly cannot thank Dr. Abernathy at VRCC enough! She treated our dog with a kidney injury and we couldn’t have felt better about leaving him in her care. She completed testing on him quickly before even coming to speak with us and really made us feel heard about our concerns. She has even been so kind to check up on Hank since discharge- you can tell she really cares!

We had a tragic loss of a small kitten a few weeks ago. From the moment we entered the door, the staff provided amazing care for our little guy and excellent communication to my husband and I. I am so thankful to Olga for helping me and talking me through all of the difficult choices we had to make. Although our kitty didn't pull through, I give my trust to this critical care facility. I appreciate their compassion and how they honored our cat at the end of his life.

If you need an animal ER, VRCC is phenomenal!
Our bully Mable was suddenly having seizures, most likely from tumors she was already being treated for. Her regular vet was completely booked, and no other vet in town could take her. Partners called VRCC for us, and they were ready the moment we pulled up. By the time we got there, she was completely immobile, running an extreme temp, and disoriented. They got her out of the car, onto a stretcher and she received immediate care. They were very honest and made sure we knew all of our options. Unfortunately, she had to be euthanized. They were very kind, not overly emotional, and made sure we were making the best choice for Mable. After everything, we now know there was no other option, and they have been amazing with the entire aftercare process.
