Have been going to Yoders for over 20 yrs but last few years have noticed the quality of the food has declined. They changed ice cream brand to cheaper one with additives. Lots of items you would think are healthy are made with margarine, preservatives, artificial flavorings that are not healthy. Prices are high for groceries. They do carry local, grass-fed beef and make good, reasonably priced sandwiches. Just not my go-to grocery store anymore. Read the labels!

Free petting zoo opened all the time. The animals were nice to watch. The shop was cool too. I got a loaf of fresh bread and jam. Great stop between NoVA and Charlottesville.

Oddly this wouldn't be a place I would visit, however once I checked it out I've been back several times. If you have kids with you this is a definite place to stop as they have ice cream and a petting zoo. The breakfast biscuits and boars head sandwich's are really good. The frozen meats are excellent. They have aisles of hand made candy which is rare. All food and goods are hand made. You have to see it to believe it. Highly recommend

Quite possibly the world’s most perfect food. Stumbled upon this truck on our way to a soccer game coming from Perry Hall, MD. Made our trip great, no matter the outcome of the game! ⚽️?

We happened to stop here on our way to C'ville and were impressed with the selection of food and gifts (especially the home made pies). But the highlight are the animals... great place for kids!

This is such a fun stop when we travel on 29. Highly recommend you stop for lunch and grab some snacks and a delicious homemade dessert. Modern, clean store with all sorts of goodies to browse. I love stopping here. :)

We stopped at this small Amish market on a road trip. It is a grocery store, deli and bakery. The grocery store had all kinds of flour, sugar, pudding mixes, candy sold by the pound in plastic bags as well as local honey and produce. There were also local souvenirs. The deli counter had lunch meat and sandwiches. Pies, breads, cookies and cakes were in the bakery section. We bought a cherry pie and spiced wafers. Both were yummy! Bathrooms are available. There is a section outside with farm animals. You can watch the goats climb up to a platform where they would wait for you to send food up via a pulley!

Stopped by this market on the way to King's Dominion the past weekend. Personally, I love these types of markets and I tend to browse every item and compare prices.First off, I want to say the store was clean and organized. I also enjoyed the spacing of the isles, the availability to order a fresh sandwich at the kiosks, and quick checkout. I could go into detail on the product selection but the fact is, I thought items were well-priced and I almost couldn't decide on what I wanted.Additionally there was a donut food truck outside where I got two donuts that were delicious. My friend said, "This is the best maple bacon donut I've ever had"... Overall 5 star experience. Get there early, do some shopping, check out the animals, see what's over at the food truck, and you'll be satisfied.

STAY AWAY FROM THE PETTING ZOO! The sign in the petting zoo introduced us to a "friendly" donkey named Dunkin. My daughter went to feed him and he violently put her whole hand in his mouth and refused to let go. I had to pry his mouth open. We've been to countless petting zoos and nothing like this has ever happened. My kids are calm and gentle so it was unprovoked. The store itself has a pretty decent selection, but it was hard to shop with a terrified child that is now terrified of animals. If you're stopping on a road trip so the kids can stretch and visit the petting zoo, I'd probably skip it as the animals aren't properly vetted.

This place has everything! The cafe sandwiches are excellent & good quality, even down to the tomato slice. Lots of bread great bread choices & a variety of condiments & toppings. Even the gluten free sandwich bread is good. The store is amazing and you can stock up on all kinds of pantry items, jams, meats & cheeses. This was my 3rd time back, and I've been telling others about it too. Definitely worth the stop!

These are the best donuts in the Charlottesville area and perhaps all of Virginia! Every time I see the food truck I have to stop to get them. We also like to go get them at Yoder’s. My personal favorite is blueberry. Their chocolate iced and glazed is also very good. I haven’t tried them all though. The blueberry is just too good to hardly get anything else! Most importantly this is a Christian business seeking to serve the Lord in all they do. I know the owners. Very kind and loving people! Come out and support them!
